What Students Say
Likes
- The college is very well maintained with not a lot of litter, the gardens are regularly maintained.
- There are a lot of oppurtunities to network with seniors/alumnus and be well prepared for placements if one looks for them
- The food quality and availibilty at any time of the day is ver good
Dislikes
- The male to female ratio of students is not very nice
- The no attendance policy was aimed at promoting enterpreneurs but has just become an excuse for slacking off
- some of the courses are completely redundant and should not be compulsory for all the students
Course Curriculum Overview
The option to be able to transfer to the CSE curriculum was one of the main reasons I opted for this. However, the curriculum itself is pretty excellent, it is not enough to prepare for the actual world requirements. A lot of self-work, online extra classes, etc is required but the general atmosphere and peers provided by the college are what really count. The courses can be improved by changing some of them to be applicable to more recent technologies.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of companies that come offering internships. Amazon had a stiped of about a lakh for two months, the highest was from rubrix of about two and a half lakhs for two months. Doing projects and other practical things under professors definitely helps with resume building for internship interviews
Placement Experience
The college placements have a lot of scope of improvement when compared with most tier I engineering colleges. That being said, if anyone is focused enough, there definitely enough opportunities to get a good headstart on par with other colleges in terms of first placements, average packages vary from branch to branch. mine has an average of about 20 lakhs/annum. about 85% students get placed
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee is already very high and increases every semester by about 20000. the complete cost of education along with necessary/compulsory over-the-head charges is about thirty lakh for the 4 years of education. Merit scholarships, merit-cum-need scholarships are offered by the college. third party scholarships are also floated. campus responsibilities like teaching assistants can earn some money as well.
Campus Life
There are annual sports, tech and cultural fests which are the most looked forward to events. the library has a good variety of books available with an impressive amount of subscriptions to journals, research papers, etc. the classrooms are well equipped with projectors, air conditioning, speaker systems and even recording systems. Sports is a big thing on campus with basketball and football being very popular
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are obviously not the best place to live in, but when compared to other hostels in engineering colleges, hostels in our campus are much much better. Even the food is definitely not bad and sometimes even nice. Hostels , on account of being better are obviously on the more expensive side of things but that fits well with the already expensib=ve tuition fee
Admission
The eligibility for the administration process was passing my 12th board examination with at least 70% aggregate scores and 60% minimum in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The application form was freely available online on the college admission website. The application period was about two months, enough to make sure to apply, but the fees were a little high. The best part about this online, the more popular government institute, is the no reservation policy. There were two exams with a gap of about two months, enough time to prepare for your weak parts. The improvement I can suggest is the removal of mental ability from the examination
