Course Curriculum Overview

Being a mechanical engineering graduate from NIT Durgapur I would say the course btech mechanical is exclusively Designed to work in core sector industry after course completion. It meticulously prepares a candidate for higher studies and real world application in tech industries. The academic curriculum can still be improved with more practical classes and approach

Internships Opportunities

CERN Geneva provides internship with good stipend for those are toppers in respective department with high cgpa.CESC Kolkata also provides PPO offer for electrical and mechanical Engineering students Projects are there which needs to be done in the college itself for the outcome or there is also chance to do project in CMERI Durgapur

Placement Experience

From 6 th semester students are are eligible for pre placement offers and also paid internship is there at CERN,Geneva Good offers are made by companies during 7th and 8th semester. Percentage placement is around 75 percent Companies are namely Honda motors,hero motocorp,maruti,tata motors etc Plans are to work in the tech sector.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees are around 1 lakh per year and may hike in around 6 months The complete cost of tution and hostel fees is overall 5 lakh of course total for 4 years . Merit cum means scholarships are there for economic weaker candidates and also minority scholarships are there for OBC candidates Campus placement are very good here

Campus Life

Arrohan is the technical fest held here every year and Recstacy is the commercial fest held in this college. Library is fully filled with great books and journals accessible to all . Classrooms and labs , drawing halls are exclusively designed for technical study and other aspects. Sports competition are held in 2 grounds lords and oval which includes cricket,tennis etc. Various student run clubs are here like Maths n tech club ,music club ,quiz club which are run by students.

Hostel Facilities

Rooms in the hostel are very good for residence.new hostel are also building up in campus Meal quality is good which includes chole bhatore ,dosa,Puri in breakfast,fish , chicken,roti sabji for veg and non veg in lunch and dinner. Hostel registration needs to be with rupees 2000 in front of mess manager,and it is affordable. Rented house found at 54 feet road near the college

Hostel Fee: INR 28000 per year

Admission

Eligibility of the course is minimum 60 percent with PCM in 12 th standard along with JEE main score above cutoff Application form found in nta website earlier it was in CBSE site.Application is yearly twice earlier it was once in a year. Reservation benefits are there for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates

The college average placement are 6 lakh per annum and in my branch out of 64 student only 30 God placement but the mistake is of the students because many companies are visiting our colleges but they couldn't find the talent required for the skilled person they required

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

From 6th semester students become eligible to for campus placements(internships as well as full time offer). 105 companies visited in 2025 and many package offered by them based on student's skill. highest palcement : 45 LPA offered by amazon. Percentage of students getting placemnets : 86%. After getting the degree my plan is to take a decent job and to be finanancially stable.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from 7 and 8 semester also their are many placement on thee intern companies. thier are total of 50 t0 60 companies that visits year which leads to very good placement percentage, in mining its above 90 percent. companies which come are infosys, microsoft, google , coal india, tcs, pwc etc. the higest pacage was 39 lacs by coal india. as mentioned above the placement is very good and almost everybranch placement is between 79 to 95 percentage of student which are placed, their are many mass recruiter if you didnt get the best pacakge you still have the chance to get a good package from the mass recruiter. my plan after degree is to advance in computer science even if i dont have the branch but i have the passion to do coding and become a web developer also i will try to get some more degree like mba and mtech and i will also try if i get selection to study abroad.

A GOOD COLLEGE WITH GOOD PLACEMENT , SPORTS FACILITY.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

LIFE AT NIT DURGAPUR

I applied for multiple NITs During Josaa Counselling but my top 5 suitable choice according to my home location and considering other limiting factors was NIT Rourkela, NIT Silchar, NIT Durgapur, NIT Patna and IIEST Shibpur. Apart from these, I have also Applied for Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. I have got approval from NIT DGP,Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. But I have chosen NIT because of better Placement records and better campus Life. Moreover it's an Institution of of National Importance and Hold a good NIRF rank. So I preferred this choice above others. I wasn't rejected from the above colleges, but simply i didn't get the eligible rank for them. And the 3 which I got, i choosed the best among them. The Admission process of NIT DGP was through Josaa and CSAB counselling. The College and the Branch will be alloted to you according to your rank in the JEE MAINS Examination. The Closing rank of this exam in 2025 of General Category for the lowest Branch in BTech is 63387. The overall admission process for the college, apart from hostel allotment, was completely online. 14-15 documents were to be submitted in pdf format in the specific website provided. My Honest Review For Nit Durgapur

I was getting all nits of india and also some iits.The only reasons of not choosing them is branch ,i was getting lower branches in all other colleges so i choose this. I think this was the best college onmy rank. NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

I applied to IIEST Shibpur and was getting ECE there but I chose this college because of its brand name, infrastructure and placement which are all way above shibpur. No I did not get any rejection form college I applied for.
