I didn't like the mess food. But it's okay to eat .. it's not homely

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen civil engineering because I wanted to become civil engineer. So I thought this was the best opportunity to me to become a civil engineer. Coming to exams there will frequent exams in this college. There will be quizzes, surprise tests, assignments, mid sem examination and end sem examinations. Based on the performance on these tests, grades will be evaluated.

Our campus gets many opportunities due to proper education and discipline. The students in nitk are really talented. Many companies like cognizant, Amazon, etc visit our campus. The average package is 18lpa and at the time of internships the avg package is around 6lpa. The package totally depends upon our talent

The placement percentage is good in our college. The overall percentage of placement is about 86%. As we move forward on further years, it's percentage may increase gradually. Anyway that depends upon our talent and performance in front of interviewer. Highest package of our campus is around 56 lpa(on campus).

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees depends on the overall income of the family per year. If the family's income is less than 1 lakh ,the total tution fee will be reimbursed. If the family's income is less than 2.5 lakh 2/3rd fees will be reimbursed. If the family income is more than 2.5 lakh the whole tution fee need to be paid

Campus Life

The fest called incident , the 2nd largest fest in South India is celebrated in our campus. This is celebrated mostly in the month of March.The festivals will be celebrated according to their states. There will be many clubs to showcase our talent and credits will be given for those clubs. Our campus is well structured and suitable to spend time.

Hostel Facilities

I am not totally satisfied with the hostel food.Apart from that everything is fine. Hostels are well constructed with proper ventellation and clean rooms and washrooms. There will be combined washrooms not individual. A single room is shared by two individuals. We need to pay the hostel fee at the time we pay the tution fee.

Hostel Fee: INR 38000 per year

Admission

I have written joint entrance examination mains to enter into College.I got 96 percentile and applied for josa councelling.I got seat in nit surathkal in civil engineering branch.the cut off depends upon the marks and percentile and it differs by every year.At the time of admission our seniors helped a lot to verify the cerificates and if you want hostels it can be also allotted

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem the students will be eligible for campus placements Companies Infosys ,Tata ,Samsung, Mercedes ,Bosch, Many more etc. Highest package was given at 6.5 lakhs And the average package will come around 3 lakhs . It's like 50 : 50 ratio where you'll get 50% of them will qualify for the placements and 50% will not qualify replacements. I just want to do Masters after my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.

A mini heaven on earth called NITK

After GATE exam, I applied to almost all top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut etc during CCMT counselling . I had also applied in IIT Dhanbad in COAP counselling. I got IIT Dhanbad in 8th round. I spoke to my coaching Sir, he had advised me to go for top 3 NITs rather than IIT Dhanbad. Since these three NITs are well established and offer better placement opportunities as compared to IIT Dhanbad which is relatively a new IIT. One needs to qualify GATE exam to get a shot at taking admission in IITs/NITs. Once you qualify the GATE exam you can then look at specific colleges cutoff for admission. I got NIT Surathkal in special round 1 which was held after 3 regular rounds. I preferred NIT Surathkal as compared to other NITs since its considered in top 3 NITs and also it's near my home as compared to NIT Trichy....Read More

LIFE AT NITK

I had applied for other IITs & NITs with different branches like IIT GUWAHATI and IIT BHU ,IIT ROORKEE,NIT TRICHY as i wasn't able to clear the cutoff according to their requirements i got NITK SURATHKAL which was the best that i got i choosed the other colleges because of their higher placement records more average salary packages and the most OG thing is that i wanted the IITian tag but i had also got a seat allocated in IIT BHU in metallurgy but i didnt wanted to take it and finally i chose NITK SURAATHKAL because it near to my hometown Banglore and the weather is very good there it has a privatre beach along with a light house many places to visit around NITK SURATHKAL mainly a very big campus of aroung 300 acres and multiple number of sports opportunities it has 2 gym .
