Course Curriculum Overview
overall curriculum was good but for the preparation of real world applications need to be improved. Improvement should be done in the areas like theory and lab subjects should be same and in the same semester because i have studied theory in one semester and lab for next year because our syllabus was pre designed by Visvesvarayya Technological University not by the college. The frequency and timing of exams was good it was 3 hours for both theory and lab exams but the difficulty was in theory examination because question papers used to come from university and which was not so easy to tackle because topper rank students also used to fail in main exams.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are depended on branch and it was our choice to choose which company depending on our convienece. Our college projects are selected at the district level and state level for example my project was selected for state level which was guided by our branch faculty.
Placement Experience
Placements of our college was an average because our college is located in rural area and companies were not ready to come to that rural place but our placement officer used to try very hard in order to help students and get placed in well company. During the last year i.e, 7th semester palcements used to come and depending on our eligibilty we attented the interviews. My plans after the degree completion was to do software courses and join in software company because i did electrical and eletronics engineering.
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wisw fee structure was increasing, Karnataka government fees was fixed for the whole course which was 4 years course and the amount was Rs.50,000 per year but the college fees was increasing yearly around Rs.1000 to Rs.2000. Scholarship opportunity was given for those candidates whose parents annual income was under 3,00,000lpa like for the SC,ST,Jain. Total overall course fees for 4 years was around 2,50,000. Fees structure for SNQ quota candidate it was Rs.3000 per year and for SC,ST candidate was Rs.5000 and for other candidates it was same. Tution fees, caution fees, registration fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees and other category fees during the course completion as per category varies.
Campus Life
Overall experience with the college was too good. Every year we had annual and technical quests. Annual festival was filled with fun activities and entertainment like traditional day, formal day, mismatch day, retro day and some games like treasure hunt, cricket within circle etc. Technical quests included paper presentation, project presentation.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility was excellent. Although our hostel and college is in rural area but the facilities in hostel is like urban area. In hostel we had wifi access, rooms are well cleanly maintained, room corriodors are sweeped and done brooming every day by servants. Room clean should be done by students because of perosnal things security. In room every student had seperate bed, table, chair and cupboard. Hostel food was served hot for breakfast, lunch and dinner which was unlimited, quality and quantity was very good and sufficient was everyone and it was self service. Menu of breakfast, lucnh and dinner was different day by day and taste was also ultimate. They give sweets, curd, milk, salads, dry chutneys etc. Registration process was like after college admission only we should do hostel admission and it was affordable.
Admission
I choosed the college because it has good hostel facilities, good infrastructure and good transportation as our college was near by highway which had more bus facilities. I was not rejected other colleges because i got the seat under CET exam scores approved by Government of Karnataka so i had the only one choice left with this college. Admission process was also the same according to the guidelines provided by Government of Karnataka for CET scored students but for management students it was different. For CET scored students the admission process was submitting the documents like 10th marks card, leaving certificate of school and PUC college, 2nd PUC marks card, CET marks. Cutoffs for these exams was different was various branches and overall admission process was very smooth and easy and went well.
Faculty
Each and every faculty was very responsive and approchable to each and every student. The name of the faculty i liked specifically are Professor Hirekodi sir who was teaching power electronics and professor yanagimath who was teaching VLSI, Signals and systems,Micro controller because these both professors had extreme knowledge and teaching way was totally different which impressed me lot. The name of the faculties i didnt liked are Professor Amit who was teaching Logic design,Professor Sagar Birade who taught us Analog and electronics, Digital Signal processing because theyused to do some parciality. Total exams for per semester was 3 internals in that they used to take 2 internal averages and 1 lab internal and atlast 1 main theory exam which was conducted by VTU.
Night Life
There was no night life in college life because our college time was last 5pm and hostel time was last 7pm and after we were not allowed to go out of the campus. But during exams we had night access to libray for study purpose and from hostel to college and viceversa with us security guards used to come during night time. Famous locality was the place sankeshwar which was just 7kms from our college.
