Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Chemical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad because I found the course contents very interesting and useful. Almost all the subjects of the course are very relevant in real life and we get much experience. The exams conducted are completely dependent on the professor and this gives a lot of flexibilty in the curriculum.
Internships Opportunities
The internships offered are offered by many big companies like Amazon and TCS. Even startups withing the campus offer internships for students. Depending on the skill set of the student, different kinds of roles are offered to the student.
Placement Experience
The campus placements are exemplary, with over 75% students being placed in all kinds of firms. The average placement of all the students placed at IITH is 21 lakh rupees. There are many people who, instead of getting placed, set up their own start up and the college also supports new and young startups with funding if they see potential in it.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee is around 1.5 lakh per semester and the last fee hike was in 2021. There are a multiple number of scholarships which are provided inside the campus and are sufficiently helpful for the students. Campus placements are regular and 75% of the students got placed in the year 2023. The average package was 21 lakh rupees.
Campus Life
The annual festivals held in the campus are "Milan" and "elan and nvision". Milan is usually held in the month of september and Elan in the month of March. Social life at IITH is very vibrant and all the people and clubs are very welcome to new members also. A wide variety of sports and extracurricular activities are offered on campus with one of the world's best Sports and Cultural complex.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms at IITH are well provided with all the essential requirements, including high-speed LAN and power. The washrooms are regularly cleaned and also supplied with hot water. The mess food is one of the best food I have ever had in a college.
Admission
The admission process was completely online and didn't cause a lot of hiccups. I had to clear JEE advanced to be eligible for the course. The cut-off was at 7123 AIR in the JEE advanced examination. All the details regarding the application can be found in the official Josaa site online. The exams I wrote were JEE mains and JEE advanced which were conducted within a two months of each other. The admission process was completely seamless and didn't cause any trouble at all. It was very well instructed and detailed.
