- The campus is very large and the infrastructure incorporates japanese architecture.
- the sports complex is very well built and caters to all cultural activities
- the boy to girl ratio is roughly 1:4 which is good for an iit
Dislikes
- the campus is far from the main city and airport
- the weather is quite extreme here. winters get very cold and summer is very hot
- the campus is near industrial area so the air quality isn't too good
Course Curriculum Overview
my course is biotechnology and bioinformatics. it's not that popular yet so i wanted the best possible curriculum. this course contains all aspects like wet lab and dry lab experience. the exams are slightly tough and are quite frequently occurring once a month roughly.
Internships Opportunities
wipro Microsoft and all the regular companies come to this college. they pay slightly more because of the better quality students here. they offer roles that are suitable for students. instead of doing an internship we are given the opportunity to work on a project with a professor.
Placement Experience
depending on the company even first years can be eligible. but the course only allowed for internship in third year and higher. the placements of biotechnology students is yet to be decided. the fourth years are the first batch ever all 8 of them got internships. after i get my BTech I'll pursue a doctorate
Fees and Financial Aid
totally the fees for one semester is 161964.5. for SC/ST/PH it's 61964.5. tution fee is 100000. for those with reservation it is waived off. there is a 17k one time payment for freshers. hostel fees is 15k. Student welfare fee is 500. 16576.5 is mess fees. 11k for miscellaneous like sports etc. 1888 for medical insurance. THIS IS PER SEMESTER
Campus Life
there are many fests on campus organized by many clubs. there's inter hostel competitions and inter branch. the lecture halls are very well equipped with screens and audio systems. the sports complex is fabulous.
Hostel Facilities
each room has 2 people living. there are two beds, two wardrobes and two desks with chairs. it isn't the most spacious room. the hostels have radiant cooling technology in the walls which makes the summer bearable. after first year we get our own rooms.
Admission
this college is ranked 8 in India engineering and 3 in innovative. it's the quickest growing iit and is up with the old iits. i got into all the other colleges i applied to but took this one. i got in through jee advanced josaa councelling. the rank required is around 7-9k
Faculty
usually one teacher can teach a class of 60-200 students. there are a lot of exams. usually there are 3 sets of exams per semester. the course curriculum is constantly being updated and is relevant. most of the faculty are decent but not the best. calculus 2 professor was good
Night Life
there is no curfew for anyone. we are free to roam the whole day. this makes the campus lively and safe even in the night. people hang out in the canteen mostly or near the academic blocks. the music room never closes. the rest of the sports complex closed at 9pm
