What Students Say?
Likes
- The people, overall atmosphere, faculties, my room, special food nights.
- The campus life is not bad but certainly not the best. But I like the people and it's really good compared to my previous college.
Dislikes
- The heat in summer, sometimes the lifts do not work (makes me late for class), limited infrastructure
- There is limted number of seats in hostel. My many friends were not able to get hostel and they were forced to live outside.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always liked psychology and that's why I chose it for my post graduation. The course curriculum in CUP is more leaned toward the research aspect of psychology, rather than clinical. There is not many application level subjects in the syllabus. The exams were conducted on time and they were fairly medium in terms of difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
The college does not avail any internship opportunities for psychology. We have to find it by ourselves. Many students (my seniors) went for internship already as it is mandatory in the syllabus. The internship getting process was not that hard for them in my opinion.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee is 8500 for the first semester for OBC category and 2400 for SC/ST. It goes down in the coming semesters. A student can avail an number of scholarships like State scholarships for PG students (there is only PG in CUP) and other national scholarships (NSP)
Campus Life
The campus life pretty much good. I would not say it's the best though. There is limited number of infrastructure and places where students can chill and relax. There is wifi available in classrooms and hostel. The University effectively conducts sports activities and annual sports meet.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is pretty good in its standards. (eventhough there can be minor inconveniences from time to time.) there are four people in one room and the room is big enough for the four. One can apply for hostel once they have come and taken admission in the University. It's a simple process if there are rooms left. Otherwise one might need to look for rooms outside.
Admission
I took MA Psychology. The eligibility criteria was graduation in any degree. The admission was conducted through CUET Exam and I scored 208 out of 400. I got in through the second counseling. Eventhough I am OBC,I got admission in the general category. The application for admission can be found in the University website. A fee of 500 rupees was remitted.
