All about Government Brijindra College, Faridkot

I have opted Master's in Economics. The curriculum for this course was very good. As I have studied 5 books in one semester. All are related to practical world. There was Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Agricultural economics, Quantitative methods etc. The area required for improvement is digital transperancy and online work structure for the curriculum. College is following blackboard method which is main drawback in this digital world so there is need for the improvement. There are 2 exams taken in one semester. Firstly the house tests and then the main exam. House test consist of one hour and the main exam of 3 hours. Exams are moderate

This college is providing study at affordable fee. There is no fee for the SC students. College is offering many courses with the different fee structures. I have paid 15000 per year including the tution fee, registration fee and many more. But now the structure has changed according to New education policy. Now the fee is taken as per semester basis and can cost 10000 per semester. For the SC students the all amount will be refunded under the Punjab government scheme.

College organised the sukhmani sahib ji paath at the starting of any new course mainly in August. Then there is freshers party held in august. After that there is book fair in September. Then the youth festival held in October onwards. There is athletic meet, Annual function and Farewell. The classrooms are equipped with blackboards and smart boards. Many sports activities are offered by the college and there is Red cross society, Red ribbon club and many more. Many student's union are there for the welfare of students

I have applied to Panjab University, Chandigarh and S.D college, Ludhiana. I have got admission confirmed in both the colleges/ university. But in Panjab University Chandigarh campus there are many loopholes as in evening department there is lack of proper study and in S.D college there is lack of good infrastructure and hostel faculty is not affordable. In the Brijindra College, admission process is very simple. You just have to apply online form of punjabi University, Patiala and then based on Merit you will be offering the seat , where you want to apply. Eligibilty for the bachelor course is mainly +2 . It depends on which subjects who have studied in +2. Most preferred course by students is B.A, B.SC agriculture, Bcom. When the student get its name in merit list, they can continue there admission process by paying required amount online to the university.

The faculty student ratio is 1:60. Faculty to student relationship is very good. As there is more strength in bachelor's than in master's. In the master's faculty student ratio varied. It is around 1:40. Economics and agriculture faculty is the best faculty as I liked in the college and the faculty I don't like was the science faculty as teachers are less in number and they are not delivering lectures on time. There are 5-6 exams but now due to new education policy there are 8 exams of each bachelor course. Many few students fail to clear the exam. Exams are moderate and the course curriculum is very relevant.

Yes, I have participated in Interview. They ask about my skills and economics related questions. For the admission process, firstly we have to apply online and then when ist list is out, that based on merit basis. If our name comes in merit then we have to submit our all original document and photocopies along with passport size photographs. For the interview process, I have prepared economics questions and built my soft skills

The college is built near the bus stand which is again a best location for any college. There are many cafeterias, dominos, pizza hut, etc. There is a big library on the way to college. Hostel facility is available only for boys in the college but many PGS are available for girl students nearby the campus. College is built in the residential area providing many places to hang out and you can roam safely at night
