Pondicherry University is among those Universities which provide Anthropology to students belonging to all subject backgrounds. Minimum intake is 45 students and may vary depending on the new curriculum made. Choosing Anthropology has really been an advantage as students get to study human in a holistic perspective covering wide variety of subjects. Choice based credit system is followed and with the NEP there has been new subjects introduced to this field. Students get to work in field in final semester which is field work and are supposed to finish their dessertation upon the same along with viva. There's no much difficulty faced during examination as everything taught in class is asked in exams.

Pondicherry University is collaborated with France universities. And for our department Anthropology we get a chance to do research at france universities and also few German universities. For students from psychology department and social work department they get stipend working in field and different sectors as a part of their interships

Tuition fee varies from semester to semester, during admission in the first semester the fee paid is to be 19000 as it's an odd semester and in even semester the fee is less i.e 1700-3700/- Scholarships are provided to students who top the class ranging from 1st to 3rd place benefited by 1700/- per month until next semester and students who top next 4th and 5th place get 750/- per month until next semester. But conditions apply that they should be below poverty line and parents should not be working in government sector

Pondicherry University is big in size accomodating almost 20k students or more having number of departments from technical, science, arts and fine arts. Provides hostel facilities to both boys and girls seperately for UG, PG and PhD students along with mess facilities . Libraries are available in departments as well as a central library to access for all students in university along with a reading room for all and for physically handicapped people. Student study groups, dance societies, singing societies, sports groups are all active and welcoming for students to join.

Hostel rooms are provided to all boys and girls during admission processes itself. Twin and tripple sharing rooms are alloted. As this university is big it has11 hostels for boys and 7 for girls to stay. Menu has both south and north indian food with breakfast and coffee, lunch with butter milk, evening tea and dinner. There are also canteens available in departments other than mess just in case if one's missing meal. Hostel fee is completely free to girls and are only supposed to pay mess fee i.e 11000/- every semester. In the first semester 13000 is paid including caution money which is refundable after academic year ends. There's also mess reduction policy where one can minus the amount of days they are not going to eat in mess during University holidays and this amount is transferred back to students after academic year ends.

Eligibility of Anthropology MA in Pondicherry University is people from both science and arts background can enroll and apply through CUET and reservation benefits are , people who fall under this category will have extended time in paying college fee compared to others. Certificate verification is to be done with all certificates from matriculation to until what they studied alongwith caste and birth certificates and a government issued ID card with passport size photo copies of stamp size and regular size. CUET exam should be written Anthropology paper which has partA and B dealing with general English, aptitude and anthropology
