Entrance Preview
It's a dream for almost every science student to study Engineering in IITs or NITs. In my case also it's not any different. I wish to be in there from my +2 days. And more of that, Durgapur is my hometown too. NIT Durgapur has a very good reputation in my state and all over India, so it's an obvious choice for me.
Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology in NIT Durgapur have a piled up course curriculum. In the first year, it's mostly common subjects for everyone and every department. Courses are separated from the second year onwards.The course comprises of theory and practical classes.
Internships Opportunities
No, NIT Durgapur did not provide any internship to the B.Tech students. Although M.Tech and Ph.D. students can do an internship there.
College Events
NIT Durgapur is an eventful college. Lots of social and technical events take place throughout the year. Students in every department have active participation in those events. Most of them are organized by student clubs and communities. Some of the famous event in NIT Durgapur are Recestacy, Arohan, Moto Zundung, SAE Baja
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is applicable on a semester basis. The charges are not too high and special concession is provided to the students who are unable to bear the expenses. With comparison to some other elite engineering colleges, it can be said the fee structure is feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship is provided on the basis of merit. No loan facility is there for the college itself but a student can take loans from NIT SBI branch.
Campus Life
The campus life is good. Peoples do activities in different clubs which they are associated with. Ment tech clubs do perform some take activities like robotics or automotive design etc. A cultural club like Dance club, Music club or Literary Circle does perform cultural activities. The gender ratio is 60:40 for boys to girls.
Alumni/Alumna
We have a good senior-junior relation in the campus. Seniors are very helpful to the juniors for the matter of studies or any other kind of help.
Exam Structure
The courses in B.Tech is divided in eight semesters in a time period of four years. Each year have two semesters. Every year the odd semester starts from month of August and ends in month of November and in case of even semester it starts from january and ends in month of may.
Admission
Firstly I had appeared for JEE main exam and as per the score achieved I had the All India Rank(AIR), based upon that the counseling took place and successfully qualified for the NIT durgapur Biotechnology course. Every department in every NIT have an opening and closing AIR for every round of counselling. Every student will have the best suited seat for him or her in the counselling roundes.
Faculty
NIT Durgapur has many eminent faculties who have a in depth knowledge in there respective subjects. The teaching process is conventional and teachers use to take classes on timely basis. Classes are equipped with audio visual systems. Faculties are helpful and generous.
