NITK- all you need to know about

I chose Mining engineering cuzz it's something which is not common and not offered by every college But the first year in college consists of common subjects for all and the actual course based study starts from the second year. Curriculum is a bit hectic as there is continuous evaluation and almost every month u will be having exams but hey u can manage it no need to worry.. As it is not as difficult as jee mains where in u need too much focus and dedication..

Every branch here has a different placement percentage and avg package varies alot.. Students often get placed from 6th sem (the good Gpa guyzz) PPO are common here.. There r alot of companies that visit here.. Top companies are. Amazon,Google,Adobe,Wipro,Cisco,L&T,ACC, Reliance,Vedantha etc The avg package of core branches is generally 10-13 lacks.. Circuital-15-17 lacks Cs IT CDS-20-23 Last time highest on campus was 54 lacs.. And off campus was 1.8 cr As I am pursuing mining engineering I would like to study for upsc or do MBA as I'm interested in economic field..

As I have reservation I get to pay 0 tution fees but I hv to pay the hostel and mess fees For a general candidate the tution fees is around 1.2 lakh a year and hostel and mess will cost u around 80k that is u can estimate approx u need 8 lacks for completing ur degree..in NIT SURATHKAL People belonging to obc and ews category can avail scholarship based on their income.

Nitk is known for its fests ... Recently we had Engineer fest where the budget was 50 lacks and yet we managed to call on Aditya kulshrestha aka(kullu) Who is an awesome comedian.. It was just awesome and another fest that is one of Asia ka largest fest Incident is coming soon during March. Coming to sports there are sports groups too where u can join and show ur skills and get a chance to go into Nit surathkal's official team Overall student life is crazy here and u get to learn alot.. There are many clubs here which again let's u focus on ur interests . Also we have two libraries one is called the e library and the other is called the central library. Where in we get access to almost all kinda books...

Hostels are okayish as there are 3 hostels for 1st years out of which the one where I live is pretty good that is Block 1 cuzz the food here decent compare to other 2 blocks.. And moreover if ur a vegetarian then u hv to choose block 7 which is very old and gives u the 2000's vibes.. But then there is this facility where u can apply for mess change after every semester.. So this is a very good initiative by nitk..

Admission here occurs through jee mains Which is a very well known examination Eligibility for getting into this college is u have to get 75% in respective board examination for general candidate and for categories like sc/St u need 65%. Application opens before a month on the jee main NTA Official website. Jee mains occurs usually 2 times a year once in January and once in April The First attempt that is in January is the one where u can expect to get a good rank at somewhat less marks but this again depends on the shift but generally it is a bit better to score good in first attempt and if possible give ur 100% as in second attempt the cutoff definitely goes higher..
