Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is moderate. In particular, the amount of internal exams in 6 month semester is too much. But the facilities are very supportive and they help us to take any decision and also help with all types of doubts regarding studies.

Class Size: 1Course Fees: INR 400000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee structure for the 4 year BTech is about 4 lakhs. I get a scholarship of 60 thousand per year(svmcm) if I have a decent cgpa. So, 4×60 thousand=2 lakh 40 thousand. So we need to pay 1 lakh 60 thousand except this.

Campus Life

Our college gives us a good opportunity in the extracurricular activities. Our campus is not too big though they arrange cricket and football tournaments every year. There are some forums for literary, sports, etc. We have a renowned drama group named Kolkata Rangamanchaa.

Admission

After qualifying for the entrance exam named WBJEE. After counseling of the 3rd round, the cutoff was about 39 thousand and I ranked 22 thousand in WBJEE. So, I took the admission to the BP Poddar in the ECE branch.

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

A Deep Dive into JGEC

Placement Experience:

From 4th year the students become eligible for on campus placements. Few companies that visited are BEL which offered 12lpa , wtw which also offered 12lpa , TCS which offered 9 lpa highest, and many more . Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .

the cirricullum is quite relevent and comprehensive . BTECH program especially CSE includes specializations like data sciene , cybersecurity, IOT, etc . Exams are held twice in a semester . the college could include hand on learning through workshop , industry project and interships .

My POV

I appeared for an entrance exam and I got a seat for CSE (data science) course at Techno International New Town. But I filled upgradation form and went for round 2. And I got a seat for Information Technology course at B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology. So I took admission in this college rather than taking risks of going to round 3. At our college students can get admission by giving entrance exams like JEE Mains and WBJEE. Cutoffs for different courses vary every year.
