Course Curriculum Overview

5

RVCE has a very practical approach towards education. They focus more on hands on experience rather than theory classeswhich helps students as engineers. We have something called Experiential Learning in every semester where you have to build a working model of any engineering topic and present it to the teacers, and it constitutes around 20% of our total academic weightage. We also have skill labs in every semester where they teach us basic engineering skills like Welding, Sheet Metal works, Lathe Machine Operations, MS Exel, Solidworks, etc. Our college aslso has collaborations with top companies like Mercedes, Bosch, Toyota, Volvo, CISCO and many many more that offer certificate courses whic are a part of the college curriculum and also hires students directly from college placements. Our theory exams are held very frequently alonh with regular quizez and surprise tests. But a student has many opportunities of improvement exams and quizes to improve his performance in a semester.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Our college has a widerange of internship opportunities, offered within the college. Since it has collaboratons with top companies, they offer internship (both payed and unpayed). I am not very sure about the stipend as I am still in 1st sem. But as far I have heard from seniors, they range all the way from unpayed to 50,000-60,000 rs. Being in Bangalore, we also get off campus internship opportunities from various companies

Placement Experience

5

RVCE is famous for it's placements. There are more offers than the number of students in the college. Students of final yer sit for placements, but most of them have already recieved a PPO from their internship. Most students go for higher studies but the ones who sit for placements do get it easily. Highest package- 92LPA (2024) Average- around 10 LPA Even core branches like mechanical, chemical, aeropace, civil have excellent placement records from giant companies. I am a student of Mechanical Engineering 1st sem. So I haven't decided yet whether to sit for placements or persue higher studies. However, I am confident that I will recieve a good package if I do sit for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees Structure- KCET STUDENTS (Inside Karnataka Students)- 85,000 per year COMEDK STUDENTS(Outside Karnataka Students)- 2,50,000 per year MANAGEMENT QUOTA- 15,00,000 per year for CSE (Different for every branch) (Tution only included) Hostel Fees- 1,20,000 per year For general male candidates, no scholarship is available. For females, numerous opportunities of scholarships are given by both the Karnataka state as well as the college.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life in RVCE is more studious than fun. Mostly students are into studies, but you do get to see a lot of interesting projects happening all across the campus. Where ever you look, you find students with interesting gadgets and projects, some making RC cars and drones, some making model rockets . Clubs in RVCE are one of the best in the country. You get to see CRAZY clubs here. Here's the top clubs- 1. ASHWA RACING- India's oldest stuent formula racing club. Students get hired after a painful round of examination and interview. Students build formula student cars and take them for competition with other colleges all across the world. One of the most decorated FS racing clubs in the country. 2. HELIOS RACING- Similar to Ashwa but makes offroad racing cars. 3. ANTARIKSH- Aerospace club of RVCE. Builds model rockets, and other aerospace related research work. 4. ASTRA ROBOTICS- Robotics club of RVCE. One of the most exciting and SiFi like club filled with robots and electronics.

Admission

I gave COMEDK exam to enter this college. My branch was Mechanical Engineering which had a cutoff of around 6K. RVCE is the first college in COMEDK councelling, thus the cutoffs were very tight. COMEDK exam has an easy to moderate difficulty, but the main challenge is the time. You have to solve 180 questions in 180 minutes. Getting a rank under 5-7K is considered good in COMEDK and you can easily get a seat in top colleges like RVCE, BMS or MSRIT. The councelling was very open and smooth. There were 3 rounds of councelling, with the flexibility to change your stream choice order after each round.

Other Applied Colleges

Manipal Academy of Higher Education - [MAHE] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Placements and college records weren't up to my expectations. My college provides better experience and opportunities as well as better placement opportunities
