Likes

The annual fest is largest techno cultural fest of orissa.
Campus is always neat and clean and maintained on a regular basis.
Hostels are decent and cleanliness in good.

Dislikes

College is not in main city so no big malls or stores are present
Campus size should have been bigger as 20 acres is very small.
Placements are decreasing and big companies doesn't not visit here .

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose CSE due to my interest in coding . Faculty students ratio is near to 15:1 . Almost all the faculty are well qualified and some are phd students who are guest faculty. Term exam are on time and no unfair means are allowed during exam so we need to study for better grades.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for internship from 5th semester and campus placement from 7th semester. Almost 40 companies visited the campus last year. Highest package was 39 lpa and average was 12 lpa. Placement percentage was good for last year. After getting the degree i would like to get a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is almost equal to any other iiit in India. A small hike in fees is seen every semester for 2023-27 batch. Local residence of orissa can avail tfw schemes. Internship opportunities are provided from third year of course.

Campus Life

The annual festival is advaita which is conducted in month of march and is the biggest techno cultural fest of orissa. Library has almost all types of books. Daily magazines are also available. Classroom is equipped with fan and is ok ok . No ac is available.sports and extra curriculur activities are decent. There are many clubs and societies for different domains. Although the campus is very small and only in 20 acres.

Hostel Facilities

Rooms are triple seater and equipped with 3 fans above each bed. Mess quality is not that much good. There is a fixed menu for every week. Hostel are alloted to every students who want to stay in hostel. It is in gothapatna area and we can find some apartments where you can take rented pg.

Hostel Fee: INR 10000 per year

Admission

Admission is done on the basis of ranks in jee main. Students who are in 12th Or have taken maximum 2 drop and have taken pcm in their 12th standard can fill the application form. Cuttoff for cse is nearly 45k crl for general category and 55k for obc. Admission process is done by jossa counselling and is very efficient for students. Overall it can be a decent option to take cse with low ranks in jee.

A Complete Review of KIIT University from a Student's View

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students.The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini.The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs.The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

KIIT:place where students chase their dreams.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester onwards companies visit campus and recruit students for internship. This internship season goes upto entire 7th semester. Many companies like amazon Deloitte cognizant and many other startups visited the campus.highest package was 42lpa and average package for computer science was 9 lpa. Around 70 percent student got placed.i want to get a good job in a good company.

Students after completing 6th semester are given chances to do internship and convert it to ppo A total of around 60 companies visited the campus last year. For core branches tata power ,jsw offers a lot of jobs in tech roles tcs capegemini and other service based companies hires. Also cisco hires via there hiring process. Student have also grabbed placement at amazon and ib like credit suisse and goldman sachs previously. Around 60% students are getting placed every year Last year a total of 650 offers are made. So its better to get a job via campus placement rather than trying off-campus

My College Life.

Placement Experience:

Students after 5th semester are allowed to get pre placement training. And then from 7th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited to our college for recruitment are like TCS, Accenture,Zenus, Infosys etc Average package in my college is 8LPA and the highest package of this year is 25LPA. Almost 70 percent students get placement. My plan is to get a job as a Software Engineer in Google with a package of 30LPA.

So from 7th semester plcements are starting.Various Tech and Non Tech companies are also coming like TCS ,Accenture, Cognizant, Delloitte, InfoSys, KFinTech, Incture, GyanSys, Iserveu for Tech branches. and PRADAN, Aditya Birla etc for Non tech branches. Students also getting offers from OffCampus like RedHat ,CISCO ,Amazon ,Google. From On Campus Highest Package goes upto 12 to 15LPA and lowest is 4.5 but average is 5 to 6 LPA which is comperable. And about almost all are who are opting for placements got placed eventually.

There are huge companies visited every year for the placement and many big MNCs like Amazon offers 100seats , Wipro offers 200, detollite offers 100, microsoft offers 10, ITC offers 150 , Infosys offers 300, TCS offers 200, Flipkart offers 150 and many more . Every year almost 80% of the students get placed at a good company with a minimum of 4 lakhs . After getting the degree I am planning to get placed in a multi national company like Amazon or Microsoft

A Decent Experience

I chose IIIT Bhubaneswar over the other college I applied to, which was KIIT, mainly because IIIT Bhubaneswar felt like a better fit for my long-term goals in terms of coding culture, academic seriousness, and overall brand value as a government-backed technical institute. Even though I got admission in KIIT, I preferred IIIT because the peer group here is more focused on programming, internships, and placements, and the environment pushes me to stay consistent and improve my skills. Also, when I compared both colleges, KIIT has a bigger and more happening campus life, but IIIT Bhubaneswar feels more career-driven and closer to the kind of tech exposure I wanted. I got admission into IIIT Bhubaneswar through the Odisha category, where the selection is done based on eligibility and merit as per the counselling process, and the overall admission experience was smooth for me. All about IIIT Bhubaneswar

The admission process of not very complex .Admission are granted on basis of Jee Main ranks and 50 percent are resevered for odisha students.The admission ardone through jossa and csab counselling and details are provided on their website.Cse course was eligible for candidates who secured around 97 to 96 percentile in jee mains for other state .I am not sure about home state .You have to pay a fees to lock your seat in college which will be adjusted in your college fees .after locking seat further procedure is done through college website...Read More
