What Students Say

Likes

Faculty - the teachers are very good and friendly and teach very nicely
Environment - the environment is very good it is very friendly and very rich coding culture
Fees- the fees is very less compared to other private colleges in Kolkata

Dislikes

Campus - the campus is very small and campus life is non existent
Fest - their is only 1 fest in 4 years but tech fest is annually
Placements - I mean it can better than it is now

I chose it because ofcourse of placement and also because of my interest in the subject, the college has a good student-to-faculty ratio and most of them are friendly, most of the PhD and well qualified and they teach quite well

Internships Opportunities

The internship programs usually start from the third year where you are offered internship and jop opportunities, the highest recruiter of our college is Adobe and IBM with both giving highest packages around 12-13 lakhs

Placement Experience

From 3rd year you are eligible to sit in placements, a quite a few companies visit the college for campus, the highest package was 12 lakhs and the average package was 5.5 lakhs and all are in campus data

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are around 5.5, actually, our was the first batch whose fees were increased after 10 years, the fees will not increase until and unless there is a notice from the state government, actually, our is one of the cheapest private colleges in Kolkata, you will get all the scholarships of west bengal government

Campus Life

The biggest cons of the college are its campus size it's very small and situated just over the main road and the other cons is the annual fest over here there is a fest every four years, other than that most of the books are available in the library and extracurricular activities are held

Admission

The criteria are the same as the WBJEE criteria you need to take the WBJEE exam with around 15k rank to get cse and get the minimum 12th percentage set by WBJEE, you can do all the application forms and admission-related things on the WBJEE website itself

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

A Deep Dive into JGEC

Placement Experience:

From 4th year the students become eligible for on campus placements. Few companies that visited are BEL which offered 12lpa , wtw which also offered 12lpa , TCS which offered 9 lpa highest, and many more . Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .

the cirricullum is quite relevent and comprehensive . BTECH program especially CSE includes specializations like data sciene , cybersecurity, IOT, etc . Exams are held twice in a semester . the college could include hand on learning through workshop , industry project and interships .

I appeared for an entrance exam and I got a seat for CSE (data science) course at Techno International New Town. But I filled upgradation form and went for round 2. And I got a seat for Information Technology course at B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology. So I took admission in this college rather than taking risks of going to round 3. At our college students can get admission by giving entrance exams like JEE Mains and WBJEE. Cutoffs for different courses vary every year.
