Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course as I have less percentile but I found my interest in zoology at that time and I had the opportunity so I grab it. The faculty was extremely good as they were very helpful for the students and gave their all effort to the improvement of the students. Talking about qualifications of the faculty so all were the phd degree holders and possess a deep knowledge about their subjects. And also some of the faculty possess modern teaching method which includes students' attention and giving accurate knowledge. Due to covid situation sometimes exams were delayed but at present it is going well.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Honestly, I haven't performed any internship yet due to my interest in doing it as I was doing preparation for my post-graduation. But one of my friends got this opportunity and was offered a stipend of 10k per month. He was too excited for his first project. I haven't done it because I want to be a professor that's all.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placements at the end of the 5th semester. The companies visited and offered placement are Genpect, Barclays, icici, and Wipro, etc. The highest package that the company offers to students is a maximum of 5 Lpa and a minimum of 2 Lpa. According to my knowledge around 30 to 38% got the opportunity to get the job on their hand. My plan is to do a Ph.D. and want to be a professor.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was simple and there were no hidden charges at all for me. It was as simple as mentioned on the website and some other charges can be added if any other events occur. As I was a general category student so, genuinely I haven't got any scholarship or any financial assistance but lots of my friends got such type of scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

I Would like to tell you that there are two kind of fest occurs in college as it helds in two sessions like first was in the start of the month and the second for the July session students. A wide range of science fiction books are available in the college which were quite helpful for the exam purpose and also other topics books are there. So, talking about amenities AC rooms are available for the lectures, practical rooms are there, sports ground is present and many more. There are lot's of sports events occur like basketball, table tennis, badminton and also other activities like singing and dancing for the entertainment purpose. There are many groups present which is chosen by voting that runs extra curricular activities.

Admission

I have been present in this college for the last 3 years. As I took my admission to the COVID situation so the admission process was online. Also at my admission time, there was no entrance exam so I went through the percentile of my 12th standard. So, we can say it was the cut-off procedure. Eligibility criteria are that a student should possess 75+ % in their 12th standard for the general category. The application form was present on the official website of Zakir Hussain College. I took my admission in the July session. So it was held on the first week of the July month. A kind of improvement that I would advise is the practical materials which were somewhat a lack of. Otherwise, my period was very good and they have a great faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.

The average placements is around 5 to 6 lpa. However, a lot students here prefer masters and so a very few take placements, we have a entreprenuerial lab here which allows students to start their own startups and a lot of companies do visit in campus and hire students also. However, my plans would be pursuing for post grad entrance exams if I did'nt get placement.
