Course Curriculum Overview
As I was weak in mathematics, I chose this course. There are atleast 2 faculty members for each subject. The teaching methods depends on different faculty members and different student's capability of understanding. If you are an arts or commerce student, most science stuff might seem difficult to understand as BCA includes mathematics, for science students, there's management which might seem difficult. BCA semester exams for first year in 2024 occurred after the BTech sem.
Internships Opportunities
We are told to apply for outside internships from the 1st year. Internships from companies like TCS and Infosys are provided later on. The college conducts tech fest which allows students to create and get patents. The college also support in entrepreneurship goals.
Placement Experience
In JISCE, 90% students get placement according to statistics. Companies include Wipro, HCL, HP, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, Flipkart, Amazon etc. My plans after getting the BCA degree is to persue MCA. Highest package offered for BCA is 400000 Average package offered for BCA is 320000
Fees and Financial Aid
Kanyashree Swami Vivekanand Scholarship are provided The course fee is 298000 with optional internal charges that includes participation or dress fees for various clubs etc. JISCE has NCC whose uniform is not provided by government and is to be bought by students.
Campus Life
JISCE has Sports Club, Art and Literacy Club(includes drama, music, scriptwriting. etc), Photography and Shortfilm Club, Painting Club, NSS and NCC( National Cadet Corps) which is recognised by 3Bengal battalion for girl cdts and 49Boys battalion. The college has MAR points (extra curriculum points) which is mandatory and can be earned by participating in different events organised by the clubs. Certificates are provided for these which can also be added in resume.
Admission
Yes for BCA in JISCE there is an entrance exam (CET) under Makaut. There is also direct admission in BCA. For BTech one need to pass Mathematics in 12 but for BCA any one of any stream is eligible but if they had Maths in 12, it will be easier for them.
