Likes

Seniors, no chance of ragging and their friendly nature
Teachers, going from bench to bench to clarify doubts
Leaning chairs, as if it's a movie theatre. Spacious class rooms

Dislikes

Strict routine, with very less free periods
Attendance issues. Mentors are strict with attendance.
Sometimes they extend classes beyond 5:30 pm in the evening

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty of Biotechnology department at Amity is excellent. We have mentors for each section(around 45-47 students). Faculty members are involved in government aided reasearch and were even involved in reasearch abroad. We have around 25 faculty members for core biotechnology. Paralled subjects are taken by teachers of respective departments.

Class Size: 97Course Fees: INR 110000 per year

Internships Opportunities

We are said that we will get to work with various faculties on the their reasearch projects as in house internships. We can also earn interships from outside companies based upon our personal performance and abilities

Fees and Financial Aid

So basically you need to give more than a lakh per semester (can be paid installments). Above 93.5% in 10+2, they give 100% scholarship on first year of 87% the give 50% scholarship on 1st year and they also have a criteria for 25% scholarship.

Campus Life

The Library is huge!! It has sofas, specific cabins and computers with internet service. Amity also has a form of E-library. Amiphoria is the annual fest at Amity and is a crazy 4 day event... I'm in first year, so am waiting eagerly for Amiphoria. Classrooms are gallery type with air conditioning and installed projecters

Admission

My admission was based on my 10+2 marks. Due to high percentage, I was given direct entry with 100% scholarship on first year fees. Application form is available on Amity website. College Counselor will call too.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

1)From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2) Cognizant , TCS(most fav), Wipro, startups, IBM visit for recruitment . 3)In 2023 highest was 45lpa by amazon average is 4.5lpa. 4)From our Hostel each and every senior get placed. some with good package like tcs digital, even off campus (2025). 5)My plan is to take a job and enter in IT firm to learn and teach new technolgies through my YOUTUBE.

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.

The minimum placement opportunities of our college is good . If you are in good in aptitude, Group discussions and your CV and technical skills are strong then you can easily crack a 7-10lpa job from our college. Overall our college provides decent opportunities for our placements but you need to maintain certain GPA to sit on those placements

TAKE A LOOK TO GCECT

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester we are eligible for the internship, also we can apply for both on campus and off campus placements. In our college some companies like Geotech, Infosys, Code Clouds, Unibit solutions visit every year. Average package is in the range of 3.5-5 Lakhs per annum and highest package is nearly 6-7Lpa. But post covid time our placement record decreased a bit. Nearly about 80-85% of CSE students get placed every year. Also I am currently appearing in interview of different companies for placement.

I got accepted to all private colleges which had psychology but I chose amity because they give you the freedom and to some people it might feel that amity is a fashion show but no, our hoi is very strict about it The campus is very spacious but climbing so many stairs without lift is VERY HARD. if only they could fix that I think everything would have been fine. Amity University, Kolkata from a btech biotechnology

I didn't apply for any other colleges though I thought of Adamas and Heritage. But I got to know since the last few years only marketing placements are being provided by the other colleges which I wouldn't prefer in future being a btech biotechnology student. Amity has better opportunities and placements which I heard from my friends who were already studying. I was a dropper student and I didn't want to take one year of risk so J got into this college for partial drop so that even If I don't get , I would still have a good opportunity .
