Remarks

Overall, it has been a joy ride to say the least. The institute becomes your own and is an inseparable part of your existence.

Entrance Preview

Entrance exam is conducted after +2 in biology. It has 200 questions-60 each for physics, chemistry and biology & 20 for General knowledge. There is no interview for selection. It is the best institution for studying medicine in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The difference between AIIMS and any other medical college is the focus on practical learning and great ward postings. The teachers are enthusiastic about teaching the subjects and always encourage learning. There are immense opportunities for research and one willing to get involved is never left wanting for options. Summer fellowship programme is one such initiative to encourage research aptitude amongst the students.

Internships Opportunities

Internship for 1 year in the various departments in the medical college itself is mandatory for all MBBS students. It includes 3 months of village postings as well. A stipend of 20000 bucks per month is a cherry on the top.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is never an issue. Coming from the best medical college opens you up to a sea of opportunities. Most people head for post graduation, either in India or abroad.

College Events

4.5

Pulse is South Asia's largest sociocultural fest of the medical community having around 10,000 delegates from colleges across India. Organised by the students themselves and supervised by the faculty.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees was 5000 for 5 yrs including hostel fees. It doesn't get cheaper than this. As it turns out, the govt bears most of the expenses for the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship program for the toppers in each exam. There's no need for any loan due to the minimal fees.

Campus Life

5

There is ample opportunity for extra curricular activities in aiims. However, the constraints of the busy course limit the time one is able to dedicate for extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are pretty old and the mess food is not upto the mark. But you get single room from day 1 unlike any other college in India. The hostel fees is 1000 bucks for 5 yrs. It doesn't get cheaper than this. The immense freedom in hostels is unheard of anywhere else in India.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is rather strong, owing to the small number of graduates every year. It is a tightly knit community & we have a Facebook forum for interacting with the alumni. The alumni is very helpful and provide as much as possible.

Exam Structure

Examinations were conducted every 3 months in first 2 proffs. In the final proffs, it varies according to the posting with final exams at the end of the two years. The pattern is objective plus subjective in the first two proffs and completely subjective in the last proff.

Faculty

4

The best and most qualified faculty you can find in the field of medicine in India. Always enthusiastic about their subjects and encouraging the students. Great student teacher ratio is a great boon as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS curriculum is mostly standard, but its relevance is super high because of the massive patient load at SJH. That clinical exposure is the key thing that prepares you for both real life and NEET PG later—that’s why I chose VMMC. Improvements? We need less lecturing and more interactive case discussions and maybe more emphasis on research. Exams are non-stop, seriously! We have internals/semester exams every 3-4 months. They are tough (50% passing), but they force you to study well for the final big Proffs. It’s tiring, but it works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very well structured and includes detailed study of all the aspects of medicine which is very relevant in today's world. Since mbbs curriculum is more about practical and less about theory we get a really good patient exposure which makes us ready to deal with patient problems in real life. The course curriculum can be made a little less hectic as in fourth year there are 11 subjects to cover so they can be distributed equally in all the other years and teaching methods can be made more interactive instead of professors just reading the slides monotonously

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is decided by the NMC therefore it is same for all of the doctors. Our college has a good clinical exposure and thus we learn a lot. The course prepares you well, but you always have to learn by yourself. In the area of clinical expertise the treatment of common disease must be taught separately. We have exams Nearly every 3 months, which can be tough to manage, considering that you have to score an average of more than 50% in them . Difficulty level is intermediate
