I just love the campus and all of the college ambience.
The faculty members are soo good and supportive.
The location of the campus is good and it is very well disciplined

Dislikes

Bus services sould be provided by the college
Bus services fees should be minimalized.
More fests should be organised in college so that others will be able to show their tallents.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have choosen this course as i felt it quite unique despite all other courses being common mostly , morover i loved biology and considering this is the plant stream of biology i have choosen this course and job sector in this field will improve with time.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 80000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship structure is not so good as the was a percentage issue on my year of admission and the next year the dropped the percentage so i couldn't avail for scholarship but the fees structure is more or less good and minimal.

Campus Life

The campus life is really good , rather than all other surrounding campuses , our campus surrounding is the best with anti ragging communities students feel more safe and lively. The ambience is also great being peaceful and connected with nature .

Admission

Yes i had given an entrance exam online which was of 50 marks mcq based on my knowledge on my course and other subjects related to my course and general knowledge, during admission if i have to give a entrance test then the admission dept will send me a from and after submission exam dates and time will be given accordingly. It must be improved as the category should be mentioned and the time for preparation for exams must be given more then the process will get much easier.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Seat limit has been decreased into a little amount.So, getting chance is more difficult .there are 3 faculties agriculture, horticulture, agriculture engineering.In agriculture faculty so many departments are there ,but seat limit is less.In total seat,80%is for domicile students of West Bengal and 20%for icar accredited university students.In that 80% 70% for university home students and 10% for rest of the domicile students.

The exam was divided into 3 parts I.e 1st mock (15) marks,2nd mock(15 mark) and then final (50mark) and rest 20 mark as practiCal and field work.the students who do class regularly,is easy to pass because teachers are awesome..but if anyone miss class then it's hard to understand by reading books. The guard during exam is too hard..so those students who read concentrately are passed easily .. and those who don't read whole year and only read exam night they failed..

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
