Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course being from the commerce background, as i always wanted to break into the IT field and instead of doing bca from some ip University college, i figured id get much better exposure from a delhi university college. faculty student ratio is around 1:60 which is lowkey bad if i think about it. But since most students don't come everyday it ends up being around 1:30. faculty of the college are very diligent at what they do, and don't miss classes unlike other courses. I was quite surprised, that du is known for having a lot of lectures cancelled but , in dyal singh, my course teachers rarely took leaves Well i still am giving my current sem exams , and the exams have been held timely and not have been too difficult to pass. They are not easy either tho.

Placement Experience

3

I am still a first sem student, but when it comes to placements , from whatever I've heard from seniors the average package gets to around 5-6LPA. which is pretty decent imo. Highest package was around 12LPA Last year. My plan after college is to go comolete my masters and also do some freelance coding.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee you are required to pay stands at around 13,000 per annum, which is close to nothing considering other private colleges in india. The fee hikes by around 1k per year which is also close to nothing. When it comes to scholarships, i highly doubt anybody would need one considering the total fee of the college. when it comes to job, i am still in sem 1 so can't speak about that.

Campus Life

4

The life at campus is so goated. you enter the college and its never a dead scene. something or the other is always going on. you won't get bored if you come to college. and its not difficult to find a nice group of friends you relate with. when it comes to fests, delhi university in general has so many fests conducted in all the different du colleges and you get entry there based on your college id. the sports and extra curriculars are insane, the football team is real good, and i see them practice almost everyday. There are a lot of societies in the college and i believe a lot of people enjoy most of their time hanging out with their societies so it isn't very lonely.

Admission

The eligibility of the course is now having mathematics/applied mathematics in Grade 11 and 12. You must fill the cuet form and the average application fee was around 3-4k . The application process of cuet was really smooth and i got admission on the basis of the preference sheet i filled. I believe the concept of preference sheets should be changed as its prone to a lot of errors and i see a lot of my fellow batchmates make slight errors in them and end up in colleges they don't want and the worst part is they can't upgrade it either.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a research-oriented field with a dynamic set of papers in it, i.e., biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, physiology, pathology, immunology, genetics, pharmacology, epidemiological data analysis, toxicology, and many such.. Handsome parts of the syllabus and books match with the MBBS curriculum. I got into this course as I was earlier aspiring for NEET, which I couldn't crack. The faculty to student ratio is 1:6. All of the faculty here are Ph.D.'s from various prestigious universities from both India and abroad. Some of them are even double masters or Ph.D. holders. The term exams were held at regular times each time without any delay (just a bit of delay in between because of the catastrophic COVID-19). Post-COVID, everything has now resumed seamlessly and punctually. In order to ace the term examination, one needs to thoroughly go through the syllabus, essential readings, and class notes.

I chose this course because I wanted to pursue research in the future. We had a 1:20 faculty-to-student ratio. Teachers are well qualified and are well informed about current topics in this field. We had exams after every 5 months (a semester system).

Higher education has never been more accessible, and there have never been more options for every type of budget, learning style, and goal. Having so many options is great, with one caveat. You have to decide where to pursue your goals. It's a big decision, and it can be hard to find quality and pertinent information to help you on your way.
