Likes
- The food is dirt cheap and quite tasty. The badminton court and ground facilities are very good. The social life at hansraj is something else and very lovable
- The crowd at hansraj is from various diverse fields which makes it all the more diverse in thinking and mindset which enhances the beauty of hansraj
- The teaching faculty at hansraj is something to be appreciated. The teachers are very talented and quite experienced. Some of them even have an experience of more than 30 years!! The methods are quite traditonal and effective
Dislikes
- The washrooms of hansraj are very bad and smelly. The washrooms are something which are necessary therefore they must be at least clean and workable condition.
- The main auditorium is not available for children and is not allowed for any event. It is quite a drag as the main auditorium is something which holds the essence of college
- The principal of the college is quite orthodox in thinking. She dosent invite any modern singers or hold any concerts as she dosent support the western culture
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BCom hons as I wanted to have a little extra time for exploring various other professional courses such as ca and wanted to start preparing for mba after a while. Plus BCom was the main course related to commerce which I love. Faculty is quite experienced and diverse. Faculty :student ratio is also quite apt according to me . For each subject we have different teachers so it is quite convenient. Our accounts teacher is an ISB MBA PASSOUT whereas one teacher is Delhi school of economics passout so you get the gist of the experience of the teachers. Exams have not yet been started however the practicals which happened were quite smooth in procedure.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite appropriate for the graduation in comparison with the modern inflation in size. Everyone is able to afford this fee from the even poor families to the wealthy. 25000 rs is the as cheap as the college gets considering it for the whole year. Personally being from a general background I wasn't able to avail any benefits of scholarship or so I don't have any knowledge of it.
Campus Life
The college infrastructure is quite good considering the fee for the course. The annual tech and food fest is conducted in February which is yet to come but I have heard it something which is must go. The liabrary is top notch and all the study material is also available in the liabrary. Moreover, the liabrary is based on two different floors for arts , commerce and science faculty which reduces the rush in peak hours. The classrooms are very big and quite spacious. It can accommodate up to 100 students . It also has the services of projector,ACs which makes it quite bearable in peak summer times. There are various societies on campus and playground which are available for students. They provide quite an enriching experience of their fields and is very important for personal growth and development.
Admission
The admission process was quite accurate.the admission was based on merit of the children which helped in eradicating the biasness and corruption in the system. The eligibility for BCom hons was language plus math or accountancy and any 2 other subjects. I had given English plus accountancy,Bst and economics. I found the paper pattern to be easy and easily doable.
