Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course to gain information about computers very deeply and to fulfill my dream. The student-faculty ratio was 1:20 i.e. 1 teacher in a 20-student class, according to me, this is the better ratio in terms of faculty and student ratio. Masters + PhD (NET or NET/JRF or SET). Exams were taken on time and the passing of the exams was at a moderate level not too easy or not too difficult.

Fees and Financial Aid

it costs around 80000 per year to do master's. Merit cum means scholarships for poor people. Yes, financial assistance was applicable to very poor students like orphans, BPL and AAY card holders No not any job on campus

Campus Life

4.5

SONZAL Fest 2023- October 2023( Annual fest celebrated in the University of Kashmir). The Allama Iqbal Library (Central Library of the University) is one of the best libraries I have seen because of the availability of all the books in the library, journals, etc, and the transparency and the latest technologies used in the library. It has also a study room available which is open 24/7. Smart classrooms. The university conducts different sports and extracurricular activities on the campus. Youth Clubs where you can unleash your talent and creativity.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel of the university does have all the facilities like power, washrooms, etc but the facility of the canteen is not for 24/7. The quality of the food is better but not always. The registration process is fair, the more the distance the more the chances the student get the hostel accomodation. 2000 or 3000 per month with own food.

Admission

Eligibility of the course was B.Tech in computer science. The application form, application fees, and application dates were available on the University of Kashmir's official website. Yes, there were the reservation benefits which were also available on the university official website. according to me all the admission process were in fine order and the admission was done by their entrance test being conducted by them themselves.

Placement Experience:

As the institute is in its initial phase that does not mean that you won't receive any placement. The college placement committee is fully supportive and if you are a hardworking person you will receive a good placement. The committee is able to invite good companies for placement. Companies like Amazon, Arista Networks, The Captury, DESAY S V Automotive, Toppr, HealthifyMe, L&T, Cognizant, Indian Air Force (IAF), etc visited the campus to participate in the placement drive of the college. The highest package for our batch went up to 45 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA.

Placement Experience:

There were only a few opportunities for students to appear in various Campus recruitment drives due to the conditions prevalent in the state of J&K. However, the campus did witness some PSU's towards the end of my 7th semester. Companies like HPCL, IOCL and GAIL visited primarily for recruitment of Mechanical engineering students. Although some four students from Civil Engineering also got placed. The recruitment process included three stages: 1. Selection of 3 or 4 students for group discussion, based on CGPA scored. 2. GROUP DISCUSSION 3.INTERVIEW

Remarks:

Overall it is a good college with respect to the quality of faculties and the library. Students are provided with a good reading room with one separated from the other by a board. Still, I would say the college management need to work a bit harder and address the gender inequality issues which girls are facing here.
