Gate 2016 my score was 483 I choose electrical engineering because highly experienced faculty..and my interest was in power system energy so I choose this college. I also wanted to give upsc exam for which I was getting enough time to prepare and do my reserach as well

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Very nice way step by step way the guides give you how to approach the common electrical problem and course work is designed to suit students..and faculties are friendly don't push the student to do research rather give them advantages why and where to research.

Internships Opportunities

No internship from college but college network is huge any student can contact faculties they recommend for internship so its not such a big issue.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement is good for b tech student for m tech student one has to arrange the placement by talking and arranging with t& p so it's on respective class hard work to call the company. Companies for electrical PSU ongc hpcl etc abb plus IBM TCS Wipro and other

College Events

5

Technical cultural event yearly happens orientation for freshers plus any mhrd event local govt events keep on happens invotion club and many coding club events inter sem sports event inter nit tournament and many more plus departmental event also happen like a seminar, etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible fee structure around 70k in the first sem than 50k per sem for general and obc student and 50 percent for sc and st student including mess fee of 15k per sem but keep 2000 to 3000 per month for your own things but as compared to other nits its cheap but quality of food sometimes increases monthly expense.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there is j and k scholarship gate scholarship of 12 400 rupees per month and 25 k around for Ph.D. student and ongc and other scholarships keep on coming yearly

Campus Life

4

3000 male to 300 female you do math girls hostel shut after 7 30 pm so you can don't get more physical greenery but yes will get local greenery a lot under the veil. I think you get what I say rest don't make any perception or group on a regional basis although in the ground you can see whole India playing in different parts

Hostel Facilities

3

Mess food and hostel for first year m tech is worse her 4 student in one room for a year so choose wisely whom you want to live and from second year the m tech every student per room 2 for b tech third year student only single rooms are provided here mess quality is averge to poor through out week

Alumni/Alumna

Huge alumni network base helpful or not will time tell I am little new here so now wait and watch policy but I have heard college do alumni meet every year and calls alumni for various parts of the country and abroad.

Exam Structure

One minor of 30 marks 10 marks by a teacher no assignment for m tech ee but other braches teachers do give assignment but sometime teacher chooses attendance to give those 10 marks or oral question are asked by faculties or presentation on new technology etc or open-book test etc are used.

Admission

You need to crack gate exam then go to ccmt counseling there will round wise counseling try till NCR round although I got in 2nd round of ccmt and than I went to physical reporting at college I was fearing about situation in Kashmir but the college is completely safe when I reached here did get admission do complete all necessary requirement beforehand and coke prepare

Faculty

4.5

Few faculty but highly talented and patient one office staff is also friendly and some faculties will even give you there personnel time to solve the issue. problems and they don't push for unnecessary assignment rather they least care about marks and help the student to complete the course with ease

A large no. Of students are hired by these companies with a minimum package of 2 lac per anum. The percentage of students getting placed are 30%. I am looking for job opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course to gain information about computers very deeply and to fulfill my dream. The student-faculty ratio was 1:20 i.e. 1 teacher in a 20-student class, according to me, this is the better ratio in terms of faculty and student ratio. Masters + PhD (NET or NET/JRF or SET). Exams were taken on time and the passing of the exams was at a moderate level not too easy or not too difficult.

Placement Experience:

As the institute is in its initial phase that does not mean that you won't receive any placement. The college placement committee is fully supportive and if you are a hardworking person you will receive a good placement. The committee is able to invite good companies for placement. Companies like Amazon, Arista Networks, The Captury, DESAY S V Automotive, Toppr, HealthifyMe, L&T, Cognizant, Indian Air Force (IAF), etc visited the campus to participate in the placement drive of the college. The highest package for our batch went up to 45 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA.

Placement Experience:

There were only a few opportunities for students to appear in various Campus recruitment drives due to the conditions prevalent in the state of J&K. However, the campus did witness some PSU's towards the end of my 7th semester. Companies like HPCL, IOCL and GAIL visited primarily for recruitment of Mechanical engineering students. Although some four students from Civil Engineering also got placed. The recruitment process included three stages: 1. Selection of 3 or 4 students for group discussion, based on CGPA scored. 2. GROUP DISCUSSION 3.INTERVIEW

Remarks:

Overall it is a good college with respect to the quality of faculties and the library. Students are provided with a good reading room with one separated from the other by a board. Still, I would say the college management need to work a bit harder and address the gender inequality issues which girls are facing here.
