Remarks

The college management is helpful in providing the neccessry facilities to the student and in any kind of problem.

Entrance Preview

Gate Was the exam for admission in Mtech . My score was 452 and the specialization alloted was Water resources.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course structure is somewhat old fashioned and has not been revised in recent past and need modifications. However in Civil engineering subject that focus on Gps and Gis and their applications have been introduced this year. The course curriculum is moderate and focus on research is given in mtech and phd level so that students can publish their research papers in reputed journals.

Internships Opportunities

The college provide internship to students at tech level. The stipend is not given as far as i know. The internship is provided to provide practical knowledge to students. At mtech level no internship is there.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement good for branches like computer and elective and electronics but for civil and mechanical the placements are not that good but the students who are placed in civil get very high packages. The average package for other branches is 5-8 lacs per annum.

College Events

3.5

The events celebrated by the college include sports cultural and technical events. Students participate in them according to their interest them. The popular event TedX Srinagar was also held this year where popular personalities from all over the country interacted with students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not feasible for the students of middle class but it is lower as compared to other Nit The fee structure per sem for mtech is 40000 and 15000 for mess and 1650 for hostels. However for students belonging to reserved categories, the academic fee is waived off and the fee for them is approx. 5000 while mess and hostel fee remain same.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am at present getting GATE Scholarship of 12400 per month given by MHRD to gate qualified students. At btech level college do provide scholarship to poor students.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is good. The gender ratio is low and there are students from all over India studying in college from jk to andhra pradesh and from rajasthan to assam there are students from each corner. The college has a growing for sports and indoor hall for indoor games, gymnasium is also there. Labs in college ate not that good except a few ones. Seminars and workshops are held regularly to make students familiar with ongoing technical challanges and technology.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel are average with wifi facility. The management make 4 students to stay in room meant for 3 and 3 for room meant for 2. The food quality is average with students preffering to eat outside. Some times the food quality is not good at all but with all messes coming under college management As compared to contract system earlier there is hope for improvement in quality

Alumni/Alumna

The alumini of the college is at very high posts . Alumini meet is celebrated so that the interaction of student and alumini can be made and the student can gain some knowledge and experience from the alumini.

Exam Structure

The exam pattern is standard with question paler of moderate difficulty. The exams like mid term are taken with no gaps with hectic schedule while end term exams have agap of one to two days giving some relaxation to the students. The lab exam are taken whenever the faculty wants by taking advice from the stifents

Admission

Admission to Mtech is based on gate score. The counsellimg for mtech is done bu ccmt which allot you the college and course based on your Gate score. The college administration then registers you on the award rolls for further formalities like document verification payment of fees allotment of hostel and other things.

Faculty

4.5

The college faculty is very highly educated with docrates from reuter institutes of India as well as abriad . The faculty take responsibility to teach a course in Mtech level but at btech level the course is taught generally by contractual faculty having less experience and less qualifications.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course to gain information about computers very deeply and to fulfill my dream. The student-faculty ratio was 1:20 i.e. 1 teacher in a 20-student class, according to me, this is the better ratio in terms of faculty and student ratio. Masters + PhD (NET or NET/JRF or SET). Exams were taken on time and the passing of the exams was at a moderate level not too easy or not too difficult.

Placement Experience:

As the institute is in its initial phase that does not mean that you won't receive any placement. The college placement committee is fully supportive and if you are a hardworking person you will receive a good placement. The committee is able to invite good companies for placement. Companies like Amazon, Arista Networks, The Captury, DESAY S V Automotive, Toppr, HealthifyMe, L&T, Cognizant, Indian Air Force (IAF), etc visited the campus to participate in the placement drive of the college. The highest package for our batch went up to 45 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA.

Placement Experience:

There were only a few opportunities for students to appear in various Campus recruitment drives due to the conditions prevalent in the state of J&K. However, the campus did witness some PSU's towards the end of my 7th semester. Companies like HPCL, IOCL and GAIL visited primarily for recruitment of Mechanical engineering students. Although some four students from Civil Engineering also got placed. The recruitment process included three stages: 1. Selection of 3 or 4 students for group discussion, based on CGPA scored. 2. GROUP DISCUSSION 3.INTERVIEW

Remarks:

Overall it is a good college with respect to the quality of faculties and the library. Students are provided with a good reading room with one separated from the other by a board. Still, I would say the college management need to work a bit harder and address the gender inequality issues which girls are facing here.
