Disciplined and Friendly with Good Infrastructure

There is no auditorium right now for large gatherings as of now. Apart from that it is a good college. Peaceful and friendly environment with plentiful opportunities. The office work is sometimes tedious but one can work his way around that.

I scored 93.6 in 12th Boards in Science. However I took up Political Science to pursue Civil Services and also since I wanted to pursue an academic subject. This is one of the best colleges in terms of campus environment in South campus colleges.

The college follows the centralized DU course structure. Variouw papers like political theory and public administration are focussed upon. The students are to take up one General electuve subject also for 2 years in which they can do masters also later. Apart from that there are skill based electives as well. All courses are of three years.

As such college itself do not provides internships however there are many internship fairs which happen in the college in which companies come and take students based on interviews. It is an annual thing and commerce based courses get more opportunities in terms of internships and jobs. Arts students may fall behind in that aspect.

The college is one of the best in terms of Commerce placements. There is a placement cell which helps students get placed in the final year. The average salary package is as same as across Du that is 3 4 lakhs. But it mag vary depending on individual performance.

The college organises its annual cultural fest in February or March. Some artist comea every year like last time Akhil came. Apart from that the college also organises the Freshers Party for new students as well as farewell. There are department events like seminars, talks, inter ships fairs as well. There are various societies one can be part of like Fine arts society, quiz society etc. They also organize their own fests. There are trips also organized both leisure as well as educational.

The fees are very feasible since it is a government funded college. The fees may range from 5995 to 7000 depending on lab fees and all. Apart from that, you have to pay 1000 rupees extra as examination fees. The admission fees us one time and you don't have to pay anything apart from it a whole year. The best part is the fees structure only. It is very cheap as compared to private institutions.

There are scholarships jnder DU for students who are differently abled and also one under the PM's scheme. I havent availed any. There is one for topper students as well. However the fee structure is very nominal so one may not need a loan for it.

The gender ratio is not that great. There are more boys than girls. However, the campus life is good, very disciplined and well maintained. There are no cases of indiscipline. There are always multiple guards at the gate. I can say the campus is one the most peaceful ones in DU. There are always events going on in which students from various colleges come and participate. There are always seminars going on in the seminar room where esteemed speakers visit. The campus life is happening always.

There is no hostel facility. There is canteen where the students can eat food. the food is decent and clean enough. The quality may vary over time since the tender changes all the time. There can be more seating though. There is no hostel as of now since the college is off campus, however, there are pgs and flats nearby available at decent prices for outstation students.

The alumin network of commerce coursea is pretty strong and wide making it one of the best in that sphere. There is no alumni association for political science as of now. The seniors are pretty friendly. There is no ragging on the campus. Everyone is helpful and involved.

The exams take place twice a year since the semester system is followed. Practicals take place one month prior. Exams are smooth since students get plenty of time in between however practicals and internals may prove to be hectic. There are 15 days preparation leave for studenta before exams and the date sheer gets out way prior as well. It us pretty chilled out if one prepares from starting alone.

The admission was through 12th Boards Marks like all other DU colleges. There is a disadvantage of marks if you choose a stream change. I got 93.5 however I lost 2.5 percent because of stream change since I was a science student. Cutoffs are released then students can go to the college with the registration form and take admission after checking their eligibility. One has to register prior online in DU website.

The faculty is mostly Ph.D. and MA. holders. Teachers are experienced and have been prior taught in some best colleges of DU like Miranda House and Hindu. The faculty of Political Science is well experienced and known among the DU colleges. There is good interaction between students and teachers in case of academic guidance.
