Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I was not choosing textile technology by default. Our class strength is 70. All the professors are Ph.D. holders with a good knowledge of the subject. They teach very nicely as this is one of the rarest branches. There is one midterm exam and an end-semester exam in every semester. Other than this quizzes, assignments, presentations and all will be there for continuous evaluation. Textile technology is comparatively easy but off course only above-average students can score well in NITs.

Internships Opportunities

3

I am in my second year, so till now, I haven't gone for an internship. However, I applied for an internship after 4th semester. For textiles over 10 companies invited for internship providing upto 20000 stipend. Project works are done in the third year.

Placement Experience

3

Mostly seventh and eighth semesters are eligible for placement. Different companies even like Amazon and Microsoft are also visiting colleges for placement. The highest package last year was 47 lakh which is from CSE. And the average package is 10-15 lakhs. Over 60% of students are getting a placement and we can go for off-campus placement also.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is different on the basis of annual income. If annual income is more than 5 lakh, the complete tuition fee (80000) should be paid, if it's in the range of 1-5 lakhs, 2/3rd of the fees will be off, and if it is less than 1 lakh, no tuition fee should be paid. Other than tuition fee, there will be other fees which include library fees, and lab fees, and all of which is 25000 is compulsory for everyone.

Campus Life

3.5

The cultural fest UTKANSH is mainly conducted in the months of March- April. It is a three-day program in which students from other universities can also participate. TECHNITI us tech fest. Every type of book is available in the library if they are even providing online library assistance. There are different types of clubs for dance, music, acting, management, drawing, modeling, athletics, sports, etc. Currently, I am a member of the CRIMINALS club of NITJ.

Admission

Admission to any NIT is done based on JEE mains rank. To gain admission first, we have to apply for JOSAA counseling with our jee application number. JOSAA has 6 rounds of allotment. Admission is based on the reservation of caste. OBC has 20% reservation seats.

Other Applied Colleges

Cochin University of Science and Technology, School of Legal Studies - [SLS] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Civil Engineering)

I found NITJ better than CUSAT

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
