Course Curriculum Overview
My priority was to get a good college on the north campus to get a good exposure. As I was only getting chemistry (Hons) in the North campus. I opted for it. There are enough faculty in our department. The teacher-student ratio is around 40:1. Most of the professors are well-educated and hold a PhD degree in their respective research work. They try to use all kinds of teaching methods. They use a projector, and the internet, and try to make learning easy. Exams are conducted always on time and if you are a decent student you can pass them without any issues.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunities available. The placement cell Avenue of our college takes care of internships for students. They have made respective WhatsApp groups in which they share the internship opportunities that are available. They give instructions to apply which are easy to understand and usually, companies give a stipend of 5k.
Placement Experience
From the 5th semester students become eligible for campus placement of don't have any backlogs. The highest package was 25lakhs annum and the average package is 10lakhs. 20-30% of students get placed and around 100+ companies offer jobs on the campus. I am planning to do a master's from DU in chemistry.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike is usually minimal and the cost of study is not that much but the standard of living is very high near the college. It costs around 1.5 lakh a year to study here. I didn't apply for any scholarship. I am yet to get placed on campus.
Campus Life
All kinds of books on all subjects are available in the library and students can issue 4 at a time. The library and reading room have been recently renovated. We have adequate seating available in the class with projectors installed. Basketball, boxing, football, and cricket are played in the college and there are different societies to participate in different co-curricular activities. Like music for music, for dance, we have sensation and players for acting interested people. Debsoc the debating society is also very famous in the whole circuit.
Admission
There was no entrance exam. We just had to fill out the application form for Delhi University. Application fees were around 2000 and forms were out during August. I availed myself of the CW quota reservation. You can use this reservation if your father or mother is in the army. For this, you need to download the form performa from the DU prospectus. Fill it out and get it signed by the zila sainik board of your city.
