Dislikes

Some professors are focusing on just completing syllabus and not on the overall improvement of the student.
Classrooms need to be more developed for the bca.
Computer labs also needs to be develop as well because it feels very annoying to know that we are going to do practical in a lab where most of the system doesn't work properly.

Course Curriculum Overview

The main motive to choose this course was that I am very keen and curious in the technology field and loved doing programming from my 11th so it was a better option for pursuing a BCA. Now, let's talk about the faculty members. They are cooperative, nice, and knowledgeable persons trying to reach out to every single student except some of them are just focusing on the theory and not on the overall development of the students. Most of the faculty members attain a vast knowledge of their particular field and are keen to spread that knowledge. They've been conducting practical labs of C programming two days a week. The method of teaching is good except for some of the faculty members who all are focusing on the completion of the syllabus. The term exams are being conducted in a gap of six months and weekly tests are also being conducted for some subjects.

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently, I'm pursuing a BCA and I'm in my 1st year so there is no fee hike for us but really don't if we have to face this issue in the near future or not. Currently, the fees of my course are okay as it cost fifty two thousand and something per semester.

Campus Life

The college conducts its foundation day every year on 22nd Feb on a grand scale and the BISWA BANGLA CONVENTION CENTRE is being booked for the event. And regarding tech fests, it is being conducted on a regular basis. Fests regarding different new technologies are held on the campus. The availability of books in the library is also nice but yeah I had to say this I thought it would be better than what we all are getting. There is a small startup going on in our college right now named Skepsis. So Skepsis basically conducts different tech fests in which they come up with some new projects or extracurricular courses for the freshers and certify the participants for their participation.

Admission

My admission was done on the basis of my class 12th grade. The application would be available on the official website of the college. Overall the admission process is good. The staff were very generous and kind during the whole process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BCA provides the students with theoretical knowledge and practical experience that helps them to go for various job possibilities in the sphere of computer application from handling projects to complex programming. A BCA degree prepares the students to deal with anything and everything. The student teacher ratio is 1:20. The teachers are very well. They always treat you like a friend. The student teacher bond is very good. They are highly qualified (P.hd /m.tech). The term exam is always on time even all the CA exams are always on time. University provides an Id and password where he/she can see their marks/ date of examination. The difficulty level is moderate not too easy / not too hard.

Remarks:

We have got good faculties. The teachers are very much friendly and helpful. Besides class one can get teachers guidance anytime. They help us with the upcoming trends. The environment is really good. The seniors are very nice and helpful. It has got two basketball court two football grounds.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder.
