Course Curriculum Overview

I am pursuing this course because I want to focus on computer applications. The faculties are very good there, they try to give their best while teaching but some of the things can be improved in the student ratio. The faculties are well qualified and they give their best while teaching. The term exam are taken with a proper timetable with weekly basic class test of the particular subject and if a student is prepared in a good way and takes the class notes seriously they can score good marks means the difficulty level of the exams are moderate.

Class Size: 72Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

It is 350000 for BCA which we have to give in 3 years. There are good scholarships for every department which can help a student to pursue their career without any hesitation. Various companies visit SNU and provide good packages to well-prepared students.

Campus Life

Life in SNU is pretty cool they provide us with many benefits, especially the canteen is just awesome, their foods are healthy and tasty, and the staff are well mannered. If you talk about sports then there is a basketball court, they organize a competition for footballs and basketball but there is no cricket as there is not a huge ground but one can play in their free time behind the basketball court, there are some fest which takes place in the year but I am not sure about that as I am a first-year student. The library is very well managed by the staff they have benches all over the room where one can sit and study. It has very good surroundings and they have almost every book on shelves which a student can purchase. There are many clubs for students like gfg, nscc, etc and their president are very good and well educated who provides us with every tip which can improve our study. In conclusion, it has a moderate campus life and one can enjoy the other activities while studying.

Admission

Eligibility- Above 60% in 10th and 12th. Yes, it took an online entrance exam which is basically based on the basics of computers and English. In my opinion, the admission process is up to the mark, they have taken it in a very good manner. The staff is also good they helped in every path of my admission.

BCA provides the students with theoretical knowledge and practical experience that helps them to go for various job possibilities in the sphere of computer application from handling projects to complex programming. A BCA degree prepares the students to deal with anything and everything. The student teacher ratio is 1:20. The teachers are very well. They always treat you like a friend. The student teacher bond is very good. They are highly qualified (P.hd /m.tech). The term exam is always on time even all the CA exams are always on time. University provides an Id and password where he/she can see their marks/ date of examination. The difficulty level is moderate not too easy / not too hard.

Remarks:

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
