Good Knowledge from the most experienced staff

The college has a good infrastructure and is well reputed and a place to gain good knowledge and a good job.

GATE exam score is required to get admission into any college offering postgraduate engineering course. My GATE score was 21, and my 1st preference was VJTI for the environmental engineering course. The reason for choosing this course at VJTI is that VJTI has staff having more than 30 years of experience and is a renounced institute. also, there are not many colleges in Mumbai that offer a postgraduate degree in environmental engineering

We have 12 subjects in the 1st year, 6 in each semester and the 2nd year is for the project. The subjects that are been offered are of use in a practical sense and also the experiments that are conducted are of good help. The subjects are taught in a more practical way than just the theoretical way. the staff members also share their real-life experiences with the problems they had and how they found a solution to it.

The college does provide internship but for Degree students, whereas for M.tech there is no internship but the students have to do research work in their second year. the students who have qualified gate and have a valid gate score are eligible for stipend which is been given by AICTE. a stipend of 12400 is given to students each month.

The placements and internships are good for degree students but not as good for the postgraduate students. the average package offered is around 5 lakhs per annum. Most of the degree students get placed in well-reputed companies and with good packages.

there are many events been organized by various committees in the college. the tech fest and the cultural fest are the most famous ones. also, there are many motivational lectures been held and various celebrities and motivational speakers are been invited to talk like Nana Patekar.

The fees for degree students is around 25000 which is affordable and even less for the students from backward categories. The fees for m.tech is quite high though (84000). but as the gate qualified students get stipend the fees is not such a big issue.

The fees can be paid in installment if one wishes to. and there are scholarships available for the student who score good marks.

The campus life is very nice at VJTI, the gender ratio is 50:50. Students are not just from Mumbai but from various different parts of state and country. the labs are sponsored by TEQUIP though some instruments are less but what is there is quite good.

The hostel and mess are not very much good but are affordable in an area such as Matunga which is one of the most costly areas in Mumbai. the food at mess is decent and also there are many options available outside the college for students where they can get good quality food at affordable rates.

VJTI has a good alumni network and most of them even make a financial contribution towards the infrastructure development of the college. the senior student of M.tech has the responsibility of handling the practicals of the juniors and also are of help to the juniors.

The exam structure is 20-20-60 marks patters. 20 marks are for term work which includes attendance, submissions and oral examination. 20 marks are for the internal test marks. and 60 marks are for the end semester examination which is of 100 marks and the marks are then converted to out of 60.

On the basis of GATE Score, we had to register for the CAP rounds. The forms for cap rounds were to be filled online and then a print out along with a set of a Xerox of necessary documents and original documentation for verification were to be submitted at the Registered ARC centers. there were 4 cap rounds in total on the basis of your score the seat allotment is done.

The faculty members at VJTI are highly experienced having more than 30 years of experience. Especially the staff that is been allocated to the M.tech students they help them a lot in their project work and influence them to publish the paper and attend conferences and present your work in front of other people. Also, there is a practice of course seminar for each subject where each student has to give a seminar on a particular topic, this really helps in getting the stage fear away which many people face while working.
