- Many land area is lying vacant and could be utilised for building some useful infrastructure.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because this is what I got in CSAB counseling, but I was interested in Chemical Engineering a bit. Faculty: Student ratio for theory class is 1:100, for practical classes it varies but it's about 1:50 on average for all. The faculties are very well qualified, having done PhD from IITs and NITs. Exams were held as per the given yearly schedule by the institute. The exam difficulty level was moderate and if you have studied on a regular basis even for few hours, you will face no problem.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies offer internships and the institute offers internships for students from their sides on the institute websites department-wise. The average stipend offered is somewhere around 10-20k.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible from 3rd year (or 6th semester). 187 companies visited the campus and offered 746 jobs with 84.66% of students getting jobs. The highest package this year was 70 LPA and the average package was 13.64 LPA as of 2023. Many renowned companies have visited the campus like TCS, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, etc. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good placement. Also, I'll try to give CDS and AFCAT for defense services.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are constant and do not change. Initially, I had to pay admission fees, 1st semester fees, and hostel-mess fees which all together were 136000. After 1st semester it is 84000 per semester. The institute provides scholarships for those who are eligible, though there is some paperwork required. I did not claim any scholarship so I don't have much idea about it. The institute has a separate placement cell that helps students with placements and internships. The cell includes professors and other faculties.
Campus Life
Our institute organises three events - Aarohan (annual techno-management fest), Aavishkar (annual tech fest) and Recstacy (annual cultural fest) over the course of a year. In libraries you will find books related to all subjects and there is no shortage of it. The classrooms are well maintained and air conditioned. There is a gym, 2 sports grounds (Lords and Oval), a Student Activity Centre (SAC) for students sports activities. Almost all kinds of sports are available. There are 25 clubs in our institute and almost all of them have their own websites which are run by the club members.
Admission
I got admission after writing the JEE Main exam. To be eligible for the course you must have PCM as your subjects and a minimum of 75% in your 12th. After writing JEE Main, based on your rank you will get a college through JoSAA or CSAB counseling.
