Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because I was in a good rank position and the main reason was the CSE hype. Faculty: student ratio - 1:35 Qualification- All Faculty have doctorate Degree and Few Side Subjects (English, Environmental Lab people are PHD scholars) The teaching method does not even come close to what we have already been taught by our old teachers from JEE coaching and schools. Professors are not Enthusiastic about their lectures. We are on our own for every subject. And have to study from YouTube even after a full day(8:30 to 5:30) lecture. Professors and Faculty- Very Bad. They Focus only on Assignments and All but have no actual knowledge of subjects. Our mid-sem exams were just after 20 days of our orientation. So there was no actual proper study before the exams. The exams went somewhat decent and in some subjects very bad.

Internships Opportunities

3

From what I've heard Internship Opportunities are very less compared to other NITs Only 2 month internship is available in your 3rd year and 15-20 days Internship in your 2nd year with only 3-4 companies

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for Campus Placements from the 6th semester. Companies like Google, Flipkart, Microsoft Paytm, etc. Visits and around 750 offers were made to 950 eligible Candidates out of which around 700 were placed. The percentage of Students Placed is around 73% with the Highest and Average packages of 51LPA and 11.6 LPA. After getting my degree I will be a software Engineer / Web Developer.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study is decent for a candidate availing fee waiver which is nearly the same for every NIT. Fee waivers are a huge financial help in every NITS which makes us below middle-class people who study in such so-called prestigious colleges. Scholarships are also available like Swami Dayanand and more. Laptops Loan Schemes are also available. I Would say that My Course is just affordable for a family like mine.

Campus Life

4

The annual cultural fest( Utkarsh) and annual Tech fest( Techniti) happen every year. And small small fests of all religions happen frequently. Therefore the Social life is quite good and also Clubs take events from time to time. Books in the Library are also old and new editions. Not all books are available but Library is not that big enough. Sports and extracurricular activities shall be given a good rating from what I have seen. We have coding clubs like GSDC.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 3 Boys Hostel for 1st years and In Each room we have 4 people.Fans are old.We have LAN wires for wifi Facility in every room thus we use a Router for availing Internet Facility. Meals are good and decent and menu is such as to cover all people's food . Registration Process for Hostel was totally Online and requires Mess advanced Fee payment reciept to he be uploaded.

Admission

For eligibility for the course, you must have secured at least 75 per cent in grade 12. For the CSE branch, for General Candidates JEE MAIN CRL < 11,500 and For OBC reservation OBC NCL rank < 3400. Candidates can apply for the College through JEE MAINS which is conducted every year in January(1st attempt) and April( 2nd attempt which usually deals with more competition than 1st attempt). The Application fee for Boys-1000 And for Girls-800. Application Dates for the January session will come around in late November or 1st week of December and For the April session in 1st week of March. I got the CSE branch via OBC-NCL rank of 3709 and CRL Of 15588 this year and with Other State Quota. Any Improvement I want in this Admission Process is to Equally provide the Home State and Other State Quotas. There is a huge gap/bias in the HS and OS quota. Also, remove the 75%eligibility Criteria due to which 1000s of students suffered this year.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
