I chose btech in computer science and engineering because that's the best branch that excels in placements compared to the other four branches The faculty are good , some are chill and not strict at all except three or four teachers who comes after the first year of college Student population is very small which is good for getting opportunities for all The girls to boys ratio is 1:4 in my branch at least and other branches girls are lesser The teaching of the faculty members is not that good Again it depends, some teachers are really good and some don't teach well at all There are two main exams in one semester Mid sem and then end-sems and in between there are lab vivas and quizzes

Many companies offer good internships from Internshala based on your resume and portfolio. From college, there are few companies which provide internships after clearing their interview. One of them is DELL

From 6th semester students are eligible for in- campus placement and off-campus placement you can sit when you think you are eligible for it There are many companies but I will say the recents one oracle, Infosys, Amazon, turtle-mint, ValueLabs, Siemens, optimum, jio, MediaNet The highest package of 2023 was from MediaNet with 39lpa and the average package of 13ppa Almost all students get the placement I have not planned yet about what to do after my degree

For me, fees is a bit higher than expected Normally government colleges don't take this much but iiit Bhubaneswar fees is 10 L+ which is a bit higher And there's no concession for reservation students which makes it worse The scholarship is not directly from college. they sometimes inform us by mail but normally we need to apply from the state portal website of odisha And yes if you are a topper like top 3 then you can get stipend others don't

IIIT Bhubaneswar conducts a technical fest every three months at least but apart from that the main fest occurs in March named 'advaita'. The campus life is all you need and that's the best thing here. Subject books are available in the library Semester books are also provided from there But apart from that you can't get any other type of books like novels and all not a vast option in there Classrooms have green board, whiteboard and projector Classrooms are clean and tidy with enough benches and seats AC is not provided but there's enough ventilation for everyone and temperature is not a problem There are grounds and fields for sports and indoor sports are there to be played in the campus There are many societies and groups in the college There's a website named bootcamp iiit made by cse students which includes other society information too

Hostel is totally worth it compared to it's fees Every floor has 7 rooms. 6 rooms with three beds and three tables And last one in the corner for four people There are 8 floors with terrace available Every floor has bathroom at the corner. Four toilets and four shower rooms with two basins outside and a big mirror attached there. Meal quality is ok....if you want more quality then you need to eat in the canteen and not in mess Menu changes every two weeks so it's available in mess only Registration process of hostel is included while admission itself and in first year hostel is compulsory for all If you want to rent a room outside or pg then it would be little expensive like around 4000-6000 per month...all the rentals are available within 1km of college

I gave my Jee mains and Jee advance Unfortunately couldn't clear Jee advance but clearing Jee mains got me into this college (iiit Bhubaneswar) The cutoff varies every year, the cutoff list can be found on college website which includes the eligibility of different branches There is a state quota reservation and another reservation quota too (i.e.) st, sc,obc and PWD which makes students easy to get admission with less percentile in jee mains The improvement I want to see in the admission process is that the college admission administration can be improved and should be making new students know the admission process instead of calling the office again and again inquiring about the admission process
