Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of the faculty members. They were highly qualified and student-friendly. Exams were on time. The questions were analytical and the difficulty level was moderate. The exams were not difficult to pass.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was high. There are a few scholarships for students belonging to lower economic strategy. There was no fee hike during my course. The infrastructure was decent and at par with the fees. Overall it was still expensive.

Campus Life

The annual fest is called Srijan and it takes place in February. The library is abundant with books. Journals from all over the world grace the collection. There are many extracurricular activities for students to indulge in. Sports like basketball and cricket are played on campus. There is an annual function where meritorious students are felicitated.

Admission

I did my MA from Shri Shikshayatan College. The eligibility was 50% for the course, The application forms were available on the college website. I did not have any reservations about getting into the college. I think the admission process was seamless and convenient.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.
