Course Curriculum Overview

Nowadays there is more demand for software engineers, so I chose this course. Only HODs are best in every subject and the rest of all is not well. HODs are well qualified but the rest of them are not so well qualified or experienced. The staff is kind and also keeps on helping us on every path.

Internships Opportunities

Only a few companies are coming to this college for internships in this college. some students got internships from this college. lots of projects are done by the student and clarified by the college's hods and Dean sir.

Placement Experience

College placement is not so good, only 50% to 60% of students get placed. From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placement. The highest package is 6-7 lakh and the average package is 2-3 lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is well fair and there are lots of scholarships available in this college. Swami Vivekanand scholarship is provided by the college for the students of West Bengal only and there is a Bihar Credit Card Scheme which is for Bihar students only.

Campus Life

The life of this college is not so well. There is the 2nd biggest fest in Kolkata held by this college whose name is 'MAGNUS'. A library is also available in this college with a good environment. Only a few clubs are available in this college.

Admission

I siting in the cutoff and have to register for IIT JEE MAINs counseling and have given preference to Budge Budge Institute of Technology, Kolkata. On the basis of the merit list, a seat is allotted to me in the CSE branch.

Unbiased Review of JGEC

Placement Experience:

At JGEC,campus placements begin mostly from the 6th/final year semester,when students become eligible .I recent years many well-known companies have visited such as Pinnacle Infotech,Synnova Gears & Transmissions Pvt.Ltd,,TCS,Jyesta corporate Entity and many more.The highest package was around 54 LPA form Google ,While the overall average is 10.2LPA.Many students also take internships, industrial training or prepare for higher studies(GATE) rather than accepting direct placement immediately.The exact percentage of student getting palcement is no where.But last year the percentage placed is 70%.

Placement opportunities are overall good, students can apply for the placement form 5th and 6th semester and can get PPOs's companies like Microsoft, google, amazon comes during the placement season and every year, so many students get placed even with a package greater than 2cr INR. Overall the placement percentage of the college is good for both the core and non-core courses almost near 90%. All the students in there 3rd year i.e. in their 5th or 6th semester are elegible for campus placements. So first talk about the admission procedure : there are two ways to get into this college for btech admission is by JEE and WBJEE entrance exam. Ok taking account of these exam ranks you can take admission into this college and the average rank for CSE branch by WBJEE is under 20-25k.
