Remarks

There is lot more to improve in this college but for that the college authority along with students' association need to take some serious initiative of out of the box thinking and try hard to execute that perfectly.

Entrance Preview

I wrote WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) to enter this college. After passing the exam and filling up the choices of college I got selected in e-counselling process and got admitted in the college. No, There wasn't any interview process followed before or after my admission to the college. As I am now pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science, I was always excited and passionate about computer and technology. So basically that's why I opted for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Its the course that I always dreamed of but the curriculum isn't. The less anyone can imagine is the amount of focus given of practical learning. No, Not at all. No research initiatives or collaborations has been taken by the institute. No issue regarding elective options.

Internships Opportunities

Nope, the college hasn't provided an internship. But our TPO section has been trying to arrange some internships for the current students.

Placement Experience

1

The placement scenario is not very good and not very bad at the same time. After the NBA accreditation the situation was expected to be better but it didn't happened that way around. Only a 35-45% students are placed approximately every year from CS dept. For this year the only visiting company is Shield Watch, other recruitment drives were conducted as pool camping. The average package is quiet low 1.8 LPA.

College Events

2

The only fest that takes place in our college is Cultural Fest. in 2016 the first ever (last till now)Tech Fest was held in our college along with the cultural fest. The Cultural fest was pretty up to the mark. Students of the college organize the cultural fest and the college supports it a little.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As per govt norms and as its a govt engineering college the fee structure is quiet affordable. In total INR 56,000(approx.) is the tuition fees for the completion of the B.Tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

NO, no scholarship haven't been provided by the college. No, the college doesn't help in getting some loan and all stuff like that.

Campus Life

4

In extracurricular activities our college shows interest in versatile fields, but not much has come out of it till now. I personally don't call it ample opportunity, but yeah its for sure that opportunities are given to every single student to showcase themselves. The facilities for extracurricular activities are quiet good enough, no doubt about it.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No, I'm not residing in hostel. Yeah, sure. I do know about the environment, rooms, culture etc about the hostel. Most of the rooms in the hostel are on sharing. A very few rooms are single and they are allotTed only for the seniors. No, its not actually PG, but kinda PG.

Alumni/Alumna

Being a Training & Placement Officer's Cell member in my college, I always believed and interacted with almost all the alumni and alumnae. The TPO Cell has given this thing a thought for better student- alumni interaction, but hasn't been quiet worked out yet. To some extend alumni contribute to the development purpose or welfare of students in prospective of their carriers and all.

Exam Structure

No, not at all. We don't feel tired or bored for the labs or exams, instead we feel huge need for perfect lab classes to reach a goof scale in our study.

Faculty

2

Experience professors are present in the college and also in the CS dept. But the problem lies in their dedication towards students and teaching. The standard of teaching is not at all satisfactory as a student prospective except some professors.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
