My experience till 3rd year

I chose this field as it will be having lots of scope in future and also interested in genetic engineering. The faculty to students ratio is around 1:5 which is quite good. All teachers have done PhD in their respective fields and are quite good in terms of teaching. Recently our college has adopted a new education policy which led to only 2 exams in a semester and to pass them you have to just focus in class.

The college supports us by offering us internship opportunities from 3rd year onwards and it depends upon students' skills whether they will get a stipend or not. Also, the students have to make minor and major projects in their pre-final and final years.

The students become eligible for placement offers from the 7th semester. There are multiple companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Flipkart, etc and there were around 150+ companies which have visited last year. And the highest offer made was around 60 lakhs. And the average was around 14-15 lakhs.

The fee policy of our college is quite good as it segregates the students according to their family income i.e. less than 1 lakh, between 1 to 5 lakhs and more than 5 lakhs. I personally have not received any scholarship but many of my friends have got the scholarship as varies from state to state

The cultural fest is named Utkansh and is conducted in the month of March and the Technical fest is named Techniti which is conducted in the month of February. Most of the journals and books will be available in the library. There are multiple clubs in college which are doing great in their respective fields.

The hostels are quite decent and the meal provided is similar to the standards mentioned in the Chichhore movie (not the best but okies). There are no AC and cooler in the hostel which is a great problem. The registrations are quite simple. The campus is far from the main Jalandhar City which makes it difficult to us to go to the market.

The biotechnology branch is for those only who are thinking to go for further studies in M.tech, PhD in India or a foreign. As the placement on the basis of b.tech in biotechnology will not be up to your expectations and this branch requires more practical knowledge than any other branch in college.
