- There is no network access in lecture theatres. Also mobile network doesn't work in classrooms.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was very interested in taking admission in the Mechanical Engineering course but I was unable to get a seat in this course. That's why I chose the Industrial and production engineering course because it is somewhat similar to Mechanical Engineering. There are enough faculty members in our department. There are around 30-35 faculty members in our department. All Faculty members are highly qualified. The method of teaching most of them is fairly good. There are two types of exams in one whole semester. One is Mid sem exams and the second is End sem exams. These exams are neither too easy nor very tough.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit the campus during placement season for both tech and non-tech roles .some of them are Amazon, Microsoft, oracle, sprinkler, Wipro, reliance, etc. there were 950 eligible students and 796 offers were made by companies. Last year highest package was 51 lac per annum and the average package was 12.44 lac per annum. 73.79 % of students were placed last year. To get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of the study is very high in this college. The fees have increased very much over the last five years. It is very difficult for common people to pay all the expenses of studying in this institution. this thing worsens more if the student is very far from the college site and he/she also has to pay hostel and mess fees for accommodation which is also very high.
Campus Life
There is one mega annual fest held in our college i.e., Utkansh and it is conducted in the month of March. There is also one tech fest, Techniti, being conducted here for many years which was conducted in the month of February last time. There are plenty of books in our library but I must say it is very hard to find suitable textbooks that are mentioned in the curriculum. The classrooms are very well equipped. teaching has been made very easy in the classrooms because there is one blackboard, one electronic whiteboard and also projector is there for a better understanding of concepts. All classrooms are equipped with centralized Air conditioning systems. There are one or two events which are held every year for encouraging sports and extracurricular activities. Also, athletic meets are held every semester. There are many official clubs in this college for every type of talent serving purpose. There are two major clubs: Team cultural affairs(TCA) and Team Technical Affairs (TTA).
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are provided on sharing basis till the 3rd year and in the final year, single-room accommodation is also available. There is a Wi-Fi network in some hostels and there is a LAN network in other hostels also. Rooms of sharing accommodation are too small for two persons. The menu is pretty good but the quality of food served is not always very good in some hostels. You can register for hostel accommodation while paying fees for a semester as a hosteler. Then a Google form is circulated to fill ur preferences for hostels and after that hostel rooms are given on reporting physically on a first come first served basis.
Admission
There was an entrance exam JEE(Mains) for getting admission to Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar. The whole process for admission and counselling was in online mode on the josaa platform. So there were no such application forms. You just need to log in to the josaa website with your JEE mains Application ID and if u have qualified for the exam, you are eligible for the seat allotment process. Yes, I availed of reservation benefits under the Gen-EWS category. No, I don't think that any improvement is needed as of now.
