A genuine review by IT student

IT information technology is a vast branch and most tech companies need such technical people so I opted for the IT branch. and apart from this, my rank was enough for this IT branch. The student's teacher ratio in the branch is low and is about 20 students per teacher. All teachers are well qualified and they all have Ph.D. degrees as qualifications in various fields of IT. Their method of teaching is quite good.

The internship opportunity is not very good at NITJ. Previously companies were visiting for internships but after 2020 numbers increased. Some of the names of companies that offer internships are Salesforce Amazon and one other company.

let's talk about placements at NITJ, it's a decent level. Not very high and not very low. Students become eligible for campus placements in the 7th semester i.e. fourth year. Many big companies visit our campus for placements. Some of them are Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, American Express, Samsung, etc.

There are three types of fees 1. Tuition fee 2. hostel fee 3. mess advance fees The last two fees are only for hostelers tuition fee is divided into three parts. a) if you have income less than 1 lac all your tuition fee is exempted. b) if you have income less than 5 lac but more than 1 lac then have to pay 1/3 of the fee. c) if you have an income of more than 5 lac then have to pay full fees. Yes, various scholarship opportunities are here. Many alumni provide scholarships and we have a dedicated section for scholarships.

We have a lot of fun here during festivals. Many festivals are celebrated here. The foundation day of NITJ is celebrated on the 18th of October with a lot of joy. The Annual fest of NITJ is "UTKANSH" which is held in March month and we enjoy it a lot. The Annual tech fest of NIT J is "TechNITI" which is held in Feb month and various clubs take part in it. Students give their outstanding performances through dance, singing, drama, and various activities.

The hostel's committee at NITJ manages hostels and rooms are allocated here on a first come first serve basis because rooms are limited here And only students outside of Jalandhar are provided rooms. Rooms have a bed, one table, one chair, a fan, etc. We have Mega boys hostels for boys of 2nd to 3rd year and all have a common mess. The quality of the meal is average .its not worst or better.

For getting admission to NIT Jalandhar, we have to go through JEE mains exam which is conducted by NTA. 9 lakh plus students appear for it every year and qualified students get into IITs and NITs For getting admission to the NIT J IT branch one has to score 98+ percentile for another state quota. The application form is available on the Jossa website and the application fee is nominal which is about 1000 for general,obc boys, and for girls, it's about 800 rupees.
