NIT Jalandhar College Experience Review

Studying in the CSE branch is the dream of lakhs of Jee aspirants and it was my dream too so, I chose this branch. Being other state students it was a bit more difficult for me to get cse here but since my Jee rank was quite good so I get this branch here. Apart from this, studying in CSE will bring me more opportunities. In it, the ratio of students and faculty is quite high. The ratio is about 166 students per 23 faculty.

In 5th semester students become eligible for internships. Earlier less number of companies visit Nitj for interns but after 2020 more companies visited here. Name of the big companies that visited for interns in NITJ are Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, Adobe, American Express, Sales Forces, etc. mostly these companies offered a role of SDE(software development engineering). Internships stipend varies from company to company and It is about 1.25 lakh for 2 month's internship.

The placements are quite good here in Nitj. Many companies visit here. Students of the 5th semester (3rd year) become eligible for internships while students of the 7th semester(4th year) become eligible for placements. This year 2023 more than 110+ companies visited our campus and a total of 700+ offers were given.

The fee structure of all NITs is based the family income. And it is divided into three parts. family income is less than 1 lakh then the total tuition fee is exempted. If the family income is more than 1 lakh and less than 5 lakh then they have to pay 1/3 of the tuition fee. but if income is more than 5 lakh then no waiver is given.

Life on campus is good but not very good. It's average life here. Various festivals are celebrated here. The annual fest is " Utkansh" which is celebrated with joy. Where annual tech fest is "TECHNITI" which is a technical fest and it has emerged as North India's biggest fest. There is a big library on our campus where we can find books related to our curriculum and other journals and books and daily newspapers also. We are provided with a library card. Whenever we need to issue a book we have to carry a library card and at one time one student can get 2 books.

Hostel rooms are quite big for living. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. For boys, there are Mega boys hostels and Boys hostels while for girls there are new Mega girls hostels, girls hostels, and E-quarters. Students of first year have to live in 4 seater room while for students of 2nd to 3rd year have to live in 2 seater rooms.

For getting admission to any NIT we have to give JEE mains exams which are conducted by NTA (national testing agency) every year. To get admission to the CSE branch you need to score at least 96 percentile for the OBC category if you are availing home state quota. And 98.99 percentile for another state quota. Application form can be found on the Jossa website and the Application fee is according to gender.
