NIT JALANDHAR COLLEGE REVIEW

I was interested in getting into PSU and other public services jobs and there is a heavy requirement for civil engineers in these sectors. In my class, there are around 80 students and for theory lectures, we all sit in one classroom together but for labs and tutorials our class is divided into three groups for better interaction. The majority of faculties are good and but 1-2 have old methods of teaching and are arrogant. One semester earlier use we have 2 times minor exams 20 marks each and endsem exams 50 marks for each subject and 10 marks for internal assessment. The question in exams are pretty same as the topics covered in class if you understand concepts in class you can score well.

There are many big companies like Amazon, tredence, and many more which offer a good stipend. Amazon took 46 students last year with a stipend of 75000 per month. I'm not sure about a project, we will be alloted with projects next semester.

Being an NIT placement is very good. In every branch placement rate is more than 85% with good average packages. I'll personally go for placement initially and simultaneously prepare for PSU and other exams.

There is a fee hike after 5 years as told by seniors. Compared to private colleges the fee structure is very affordable. There are many scholarships for SC/ST and lower-income group candidates. Students who are well-equipped with skills probably get an internship.

We have many teams and clubs in our college. I'm also part of 3 clubs. Utkansh is our annual cultural fest and this time it was in March (2023). Our tech-fest is Techniti this time it was in February. It was one this time they were very close usually they have a gap of 2 months. Usually, there is always something big or small going on every month there are sports good sports culture in the college we have a well-maintained cricket ground, badminton courts, basketball courts, gymnasium, volleyball courts, etc. All the groups are completely managed by the students. In the first year, we get a shared room for 4 people. For the 2nd and 3rd years, we get to share a room with 2 students in a room. And for the final year, we have an option for single as well as sharing rooms in the hostel. Mess food is decent the quality of food is good and the menu is well designed and regular feedback is taken from students for any change. Hostels are very affordable charges are very less compared to a room outside campus or pg. As the college is located on the outskirts of the city there are very less options available for PG and rented rooms.

My admission was pretty smooth. After the JEE Mains and Advanced result was declared I applied for jossa counseling (Rank-20,008 EWS). At the end of jossa, I got the opportunity for joining the textile branch at NIT JALANDHAR (Punjab being my home state). After that applied for csab round at after 2 rounds I got into civil engineering at NIT JALANDHAR.
