Internship situation at NIT JALANDHAR

I am pursuing B.tech in CSE. In this age of advancement and technology, this course will help me understand the current situation and market better. Also I will be able to apply my knowledge of technology for the advancement of society. The faculty helps us adjust to a new curriculum and also helps us with our regular studies and doubts regarding our courses. The faculty o my course is knowledgeable about their subjects and imparts the same knowledge to the students. The faculty: student ratio is apt. All the faculty are PhD holders and also doing r have done research work in their field. All the term exams have always been on time and the schedule was followed very strictly. One has to study consistently and be regular in order to pass and also obtain good marks and grades on the exam.

I am in 5th semester right now. I have not yet got any internship. Google, Amazon, Flipkart, uber etc companies offer internship opportunities to the student. From what I have heard only 30 percent of the students get internship opportunities.

From the 7th semester the students become eligible for campus placement. Several companies like Amazon, Google etc visit our campus and make offers to the students. Almost all the students from CSE get offers from this company but they have to maintain good cgpa and be knowledgeable. I would like to work for the underprivileged community of society after obtaining my degree

Recently the registration fees for the carry subjects course and summer registration course have been increased. They have made it 3000 rupees and 5000 rupees respectively which is a lot for students from middle-class families. So the cost is, unfortunately, going out of our reach. Till now I have not availed any on-campus job. In this semester we will get the opportunity to get paid internships with a stipend.

There are Utkansh Fest and Techniti Fest. They are conducted around February and March. The fests give a glimpse of glamour. As an international student, I have always heard about the college fests of India and I was excited to attend these. Important books and journals are available in our library. From the library, we can issue the books for ourselves for a limited time and then again after returning them, we can re-issue them. We have a projector and ac in our classroom. There are various sorts and eca clubs in the university which help the students to enrich themselves with new skills. They also participate in various fests. Like the music club and dance club participate in all the fests. And some clubs organise many events. The prayers club is a club that helps underprivileged students and is also run by students.

The new hostel has a lot of facilities including WiFi, LAN connection, spacious rooms, mess on the ground floor. The meal is vegetarian and sometimes non-veg is also available. The registration process is online and hassle free which saves a lot of time. I am not fully aware of the PG situation here.

I Sarkar Saima Islam, am an international student from Bangladesh pursuing my b.tech in CSE from NIT JALANDHAR. I am an ICCR scholar so the admission process for the ICCR scholarship is that they have to apply online to the ICCR website and then take the EPT test and appear for viva. Then the education ministry provides the students with scholarships. The application usually starts at the beginning of the year. There are no reservation benefits. The admission process is absolutely genuine and without any hassle so it is the best the way it is now. I am satisfied with the process.
