NITJ at a glance

As the world evolves the role of technology becomes so crucial. Everything in future will be technology dependent no matter what field is it whether it is the healthcare sector, trading, business, startup, automobile sector or even a simple shop, everywhere technology is needed. Here in the NIT Jalandhar CSE department, we have 1 faculty per 30 students. All the faculties are PhD holders. Some of them have post doc. as well. Some of the faculties have studied abroad in countries like Russia, Italy etc. They always involve in the current technologies and do research. So many research papers are published by the faculties. We have one mid-term and 1 end sem examination in one semester. As everyone knows engineering exam is about one-night of study, so for some subjects it is true but for some, we really need to put in hard effort otherwise be ready for backlogs.

Intership Opportunities are not that much great as placements but it is good for it sector. For core branches, it is up to the marks. Companies like Salesforce, amazon, microsoft, american express, paytm, Samsung, adobe, Goldman Sachs, service now, Bharat petroleum iris etc.

The placement of our college for CSE is very good. The highest package received by cse students this year is 52 lpa by microsoft. The average is 17 lpa for CSE. The highest package of the college received by ECE students is of 1.2cr offered by Amazon.

The college provides a fee structure for every academic year. Students get tuition fee exemption on the basis of family income. If family income is less than 1lac then 100% exemption if it is between 1 to 5 lac 70% exemption and above 5 lac no exemption as in every NITs and IIT. We have soo many scholorship here in our college including state gov. scholarship, central gov. scholorship and some other NGOs and corporate organisations like BHARAT PETROLIUAM also provides scholorship based upon the financial status of students.

We have UTKANSH as our annual cultural fest. it is a 3-day fest, soo many cultural activities. Soo many competitive activities happen, students come from various colleges(like NITs, IIITs, LPU etc) and participate. It is held in the month of March. We have TECHNITI as our tech fest. It is also a 3-day fest. Soo many technical, robotics activities happen there. In both the fest, we have STAR NIGHT and stars like HARDY SANDHU, AFSANA KHAN, NINJA etc have been coming to our college. classroom are fully AC and have comfortable seats. it is a fully smart classroom. We have all the clubs dramatics, dancing, photography, modelling, fashion, animation, art, technical, robotics and many more.

Every student of class 12th or passout within 2 years of maths stream having more than 75% marks in 12th or within the top 2% of the respective board are eligible for the entrance exam. NTA organises JEE mains exam twice a year for admission to NITs. There are seats reserved for the students as per category and female students are much benefited from that. The councelling process and seat allotment process (josaa and csab) both are transparent. Always have a look at the previous year's opening and closing rank for a particular stream in a particular college. The cutoff will always nearby the previous year(maximum 1k rank difference).
