Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm a BTech student with CSE (computer science and engineering) branch. Since CSE is high in demand these days and companies require software engineers so I have chosen this course. Apart from these I'm very interested in coding and other development stuff. Here students are large in number as compared to faculty. The ratio of students-faculty is 166:23. All the faculty has passed out from premium institutes like Bits Pilani, Nit J, NIT Hamirpur, etc. The teaching style is good. They try to find new ways to teach students by bringing short fun elements like asking quiz questions just to refresh students.

Internships Opportunities

4

Various internship opportunities are Here. Many prominent companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, and Samsung visit the campus for hiring interns. Typically they offer a stipend of 1 lac plus. Projects should be good and relevant as required by the respective company.

Placement Experience

4

Internships and placements are good at NITJ. Students from 2nd year become eligible for internships and in 3rd-year various software companies like Amazon, Microsoft, goldman sachs, adobe, Samsung, and sales forces. These companies offer either interships or placements for respective students. The highest package was 1.2 crore and was offered by Amazon and the profile was Software engineering. As of 2023, it has 73% of students getting placed. After getting my degree I want to do a job for 2-3 years and after that, I will opt for a foreign country.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is based on the Income of the parents of the student. Divided into three parts- If income is less than 1 lac then a tuition fee waiver is provided to all students which is 620000, If income is less than 5 lac and above 1 lac then 1/3 fee is exempted, if income more than 5 lac then full tuition fee is paid by the student. yes, there are opportunities for scholarships. Some of them are provided by alumni of Nitj and many opportunities can be grabbed from the NIT j website where they update about scholarships. here we have a scholarship section to handle these opportunities.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest at Nitj is "UTKANSH" which is celebrated with pomp and joy and held in March. It's been celebrated since 2006. The tech fest is "TechNITI" which is held in February. It has emerged as the most sought event in the North. The library is divided into sections and each branch's books are available there each year. we are given a library card where we can issue max 2 books at a time and have to return in 2 weeks or otherwise have to pay a fine. In class, room we have projectors, conditioned one room , reclining chairs for sitting and a mic and speakers too Here are various clubs at Nitj, namely the GDSC google developer student club run by students itself initiated by Google. "Netra" photography club, "SI Crew" & "Criminalz" for dancing, "RTIST" for robotics, "Bhangra club" for Punjabi dance, and "OCTAVE" for music.

Hostel Facilities

4

The rooms are quite big for living. it has one chair, one study table, a fan, and a bed. For first-year students room with 4 students is given. Second and third-year students are given 2 seater room. while 4th-year students have the option of either 1 seating or double seating. Meal quality is good in each hostel. In megs boys' hostel's meal is not that much good but still its good hostel. The registration process is simple and it's based on a First come first serve basis. If a student wants then Maqsuda is the best place.

Admission

To get admission to any NIT college, one has to give JEE MAINS exam which is Joint Entrance Examination conducted by NTA National Testing Agency. it's an Entrance test for Engineering students in India. It is held every year and a student has three years to crack this exam. one when he is in his/her 12th standard and two chances after 12 passing. One should score 75 and above percentage in his 12th class to be eligible for this. One can find its application form on JEE mains Portal. Previously NTA used to charge 650 from the general and obc categories but now it's changed to 1000 for males and 800 for females Reservation is given here based on caste for the OBC category it is about 27% for EWS 10% and for SC/ST 15% of seats are reserved. Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
