What Students Say

Likes

Greenery in the campus , refreshment centre.
Full AC equipped Lecture theatre and scenery near garden (main park)
Most important is the Playground for cricket and football

Dislikes

Some professor are such that you feel they doesn't deserve to be a professor while some are excellent.
Mess food is not so bad but after weekly same routine you feel bored and not to eat mess food
InTimings in hostels for both boys and girls.

Course Curriculum Overview

I prefer courses that I can apply in the real world. So that's why I choose civil engineering, I don't like software departments like computer science and information technology, etc. Due to a lack of interest. I prefer something which is mechanical work. All the professors in my department are very good at teaching. All exams were on time. If you study a little bit daily you can easily pass the exams with flying colours.

Placements are fine now over the covid period. Now the placement came on track slowly and steadily. The average package of civil engineering is around 3-4 lakhs per annum. While the average package of computer science is 12 lakh per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

We are getting informed by the college administration if there is any scholarship offer that came to them, they sent this to us by official mail. Other than this, the institute also helps in applying for national and state-level scholarships. Other than this, there are 2 banks namely the state bank of India and Canara Bank on the campus which provide loans to the student.

Campus Life

Utkansh is the annual cultural fest while Techniti is the annual technical fest of our college. It is conducted generally from April to June. The library is fully equipped with all the necessary books, journals, etc. Recently a study room of 4 floors is built so that students can read there with ease. There are many clubs in the college. You can check it on the institute's website.

Hostel Facilities

There are 8 boys hostel and 5 girls hostel along with food accommodation. Mess is good, not bad. Registration for a hostel is very easy, you just have to come to the hostel office and submit some documents, and boom you got your room.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

I wrote JEE main conducted by NTA in the year 2021 and then through Josaa counseling I'll get this college i.e. NIT Jalandhar. You have to clear JEE main with approximate 96 percentile as per data around 2021 to get into this college.

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

A life in my college.

Placement Experience:

Only skilled or quality are able to get placed. Usually onwards 6th or 7 th semester, students can be eligible depending on the performances. I can do a job if I like to work there. If not, I will do more internships to get hands on experience.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really great of our college as its avg pakage is of 11 lac from computer related branches. Girls are eligible in second year for inters and for boys its generally from 3rd year because of the reservations.

The course curriculum is interactive and have added various new thing like in the engineering graphics subject they have added the software like autocad instead of traditional drawings... And in eme they provide the real life assignments projects . The exams are of approx 3 hrs and difficulty level is what that is taught in class

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

Atharv ki dastan nit ki kahani

I got 28102 rank in jee mains and 24576 rank in jee advanced My primary goal was to get into any iit but I can't get due to my rank if I would have got any iit o would have chosen it over In josaa counselling I got iiit bhopal cse which was quite a good option because bhopal is not so distant from home and also has good placement but it has many problems like no permanent campus and hostels etc and very high fees which I can't afford So in next round I got nit jalandhar ice over it because it is a cirtcutal branch enough options in tech and core both morover it comes with a nit tag and less fees and I want clg in north...Read More
