Studying at IIM Kozhikode

My interest was in finance and the role that I want to get into is Investment banking that's why I chose to go with the PGP-Finance course in IIM Kozhikode. I would say that since it is a specialised course, it is more inclined toward Finance domain and the subjects that you are going to study will have that touch. To be very honest all my faculty members are quite professional and they know exactly want they are doing. student ratio is not very impressive in my course but overall it's very good with 60:40.

summer intership program will start in September and the companies which come to campus are HUL, Bain, BCG, maruti suzuki, JPMorgan, Capgemini, JSW, Mahindra, Nomura, Accenture and many more roles are various.

In IIM Kozhikode placement record is 100% with an average salary of 31lakhs, In the first year summer internship placements will happen and in the second year final placement process will start. In 2022 123 companies came and gave 580 offers to students for final placements, all the big companies came to campus including Bain, BCG, Mckinsey, JPMorgan and many others.

overall fees in the PGP program is 20.5 lakh, the fee structure is given in the official IIM Kozhikode website. Scholarships are available some of them are merit-based and some of them are the financial background of the candidate.

life at the campus is hard at least for the first few months, but what helps you to go through this phase are your friends and of course, cultural event called roobaro which is held in the month of July will help you to get to know your batch mates.

At IIM Kozhikode, the types of hostel accommodation that you are going to get are single, double or triple shared rooms. In triple and double sharing accommodation, you will get an attached washroom and AC facility but in single shared you won't get these facilities, In the second year only double sharing rooms are available. food quality in the mess is good with different varieties covering the northern region as well.

The admission process was seamless didnt face any major difficulty at any point be it at an interview or result announcement online. I am enrolled in PGP-finance program so I can talk about its eligibility criteria. IIM Kozhikode accepts multiple entrance exams like CAT, GRE and GMAT for the finance program. I got admission through CAT which I had given in 2022. Eligibility criteria have been given in detail on IIM Kozhikode official website. To get shortlisted for the IIM K admission process, you need to select that in CAT form during preference selection. for ST students cut-off in CAT is lower than general category students which are wary alot every year, Sectional cut-off is 60/55/55 in CAT, I dont think that there is any need for improvement in the admission process so it's fine.

The selection process was comprised of a written ability test (WAT) and an Interview, topics of WAT are not fixed and it could be anything from business news to any abstract idea so you have to prepare well for the WAT round. In Interview will revolve around your background and they could also ask some HR questions like why you want to do MBA.
