A look into inside of School of Management Studies, CUSAT

Course is designed as per AICTE guidelines. The course has 4 semester, out of which one internship with project is Mandatory. The course structure is more of a bookish learning. Its not designed like a B school. But still, the academic papers are good enough to match with IIM's syllabus.

I got into icici prudential mutual fund with a stipend of 15k per month. The other internship opportunities students gained are find my hostel, federal bank, Uralungal labour, kochi metro, Esaaf Bank, VKC

Campus placement starts in the beginning of third semester. Around 95% students get placed through campus placement. Highest package is 23lpa and average package is 8lpa. The major companies are: khimji Ramdas, federal Bank,ICICI bank, Max, jio, CCD,DHL, walkrao

Each semester the fee is 38,000. We havebto pay as 4 times in 4 semesters. For SC/St, the fee is ?300. They do get scholarship of E grantz hence no fee is being collected from them. Remaining students are eligible to apply for any other national or state level scholarship as per their eligibility. I have got two scholarships in one year and that together is about ?27000. Some of the eligible scholarships are: Post graduate scholarship under NSP by central Gov:15k per month CH mohammed koya scholarship for minorities:13k/year as hostel stipend or 7k for professional course Pravasi scholarship by Norka:15k per year Internship: SMS do have campus placement for intenrship too. I got through campus placement at ICICI mutual fund with a stipend of 15k/month. Roles and Responsibilities: We do we have many clubs and associations, and do get opportunities via that. I'm the vice president of speak out club. Also, we do have Marketing forum for college.

Onam celebration are conducted department wise and hostel wise. Christmas and new year celebration are also conducted. Sargam is a CUSAT university arts fest lasting for 4 days and its the biggest celebration. Talent time is a management fest organized by MBA department amd is one of the best and oldest management fest in south India. All the hostels celebrate many days and festivals inside hostel

Girls Hostel rent is ?320 and boys hostel rent is ?400. CUSAT has overall 14 hostels inside campus. May of the hostel rooms are either 2 sharing or 3 sharing. Also each inmates is capable of providing admission to one one guest into their room And mess is run by students and students itself form the mess committee and decide menu and serve the food. Mess bill is calculated by each month according to the usage of mess by each student. A maximum of 2500 will be mess bill for 30 days usage. Hostel is provided based on distance of students home from college.so its a allotment process.

CAT/CMAT/KMAT any of the score is mandatory. Out of all applications recieved, the initial shortlisting will be done based on these score normalised. Around 500 students get shortlisted. Then GD and interview will be conducted. Based on that final rank list will be prepared. 70% weightage is for score of any management test. Amd remaining 30% weightage is for GD and PI together. Around 145 seats are there for full time MBA including all reservations. GD AND PI is simple to crack. Application process usually starts by march and GD and PI is conducted during july.

All the faculty members are highly qualified. School of management studies, CISAT has 22 faculties only for MBA programme. So access to faculty is high. Also, some faculties are alumni of IIM and NIT's . All teh classes are not super , but some classes are really helpful. We do get efficient support from faculty side. Hence they are approachable and easy to interact.

Gd and PI is a lart of admission process. GD is of maximum 20min. And topic are either general topic or related to business or current market scenarios. I got women empowerment as topic. pI is conducted by different panels and its based on a bio data form that we fill. So its a un structure interview. Altogether GD and PI has a weightage of 30% for the rank list calculation.
