Cusat-My life changing decision

Likes

Central library have 260000 books, and also we have department wise libraries
We have fully air conditioned seminar halls and auditoriums

Dislikes

Lunch in hostel is not good,don’t have non veg option for lunch
In some departments there is old buildings and infrastructure

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester onwards students are eligible for placements. Wipro ,Tech Mahindra, ibm , Oracle are some top recruiting companies. more than 600 placements are recorded in 2024. the least package is 4LPA, average package is 6.7 LPA and the highest packages 30 LPA. around 60 to 70 percentage of students are getting placements. My plan to qualify in gate and pursue MBA from IIT.

Better than private colleges

The placement for my department is the first thing that attracted me .
Work load is minimum as compared to other departments.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is poor, college needs to work on classroom and laboratories
Fees taken from students who belong to outside of Kerala is very much big as compared to SC and ST keralaites.

Placement Experience:

The campus itself is giving the placements for almost 85%of the students it will be completely spend upon the students skills and performance during the college days . Many famous companies are directly approaching the college.For my branch Safety and fire very few companies approach but placement is sure if you are average.

Dislikes

You can also get pg or private hostel near the college during first year because you won't get hostel in first year till second semester.
The attendance is 75% minimum for writing the exam sometimes it is difficult to manage the attendance.

Placement Experience:

Placements of cusat are more than average.Almost all people get placement from the campus .many companies visited this year like Vieston,L&T,Reliance ,Soty, EY,merilitics ,Technook,TCS , Cognizant etc Most of the company allow to sit for the Placement if the cgpa is greater than 7. You need to clear backlogs, also need to have DSA and course related knowledge for most low-level interview .

College at the heart of kuttanad

Academic structure is pretty good. Exams will be conducted earlier and the results will also be published at the earliest.
Value of the university is pretty good. Placement options are also comparatively better.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is not that good. It's just average
The campus itself is said to be in a very rural area and so there a some drawbacks. Reaching the city area is a lil bit time consuming.

Placements are pretty good. Well reputed companies are offering Placement options. Cusat is providing a personal email to it's students and this even help us while applying for jobs and Placements. After covid pandamic placements become comparatively lower than before.

60:40 is the ratio of boys to girls in our department
College promotes internships and faculties are supportive in this for our department According to seniors

Dislikes

No UPI payments in the soe store which is a little tough
Frequency of events have reduced this year than previous years due to a accident

Placement Experience:

Almost every students without backlogs get placed here , getting placement here is easy you have to pass all the sem exams without any supply and maintain a higher cgpa then you will get easily placed.25lpa is the highest placement,average is 6lpa I think almost 80% students get placed,from 6th semester onwards placement procedures starts

Why choose CUSAT

Likes

Teachers are very supportive and always ready to help.
College provides an incubator, called CITTIC if you want to built a startup.

Dislikes

So many strikes and political activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams are conducted regularly which is a good thing but there is no gap between internal exams and we have two subjects per day. That becomes really stressful if you do last minute prep. The curriculum is designed very well and includes all that is required by the industry in this time.

I liked the infrastructure of our college...also all classrooms are well maintained with AC
The engagement of campus life with social life is very engaging and we enjoy the campus life

Dislikes

Some teachers have to be minimum qualified with their behaviour
Placement support in our department is very bad

Our curriculum was the best as I was able to achieve ugc net in forensic science even before completing the course I think this is my field after choosing this course Teaching methods are not that satisfactory but yes if you have a mind we can follow our dream

The campus life is so super.The teachers and students were very friendly.
The infrastructure is very good. It contains labs also.

Dislikes

There is no hostel in this college. We are staying outside hostel.
College canteen is not working everyday, which is also private

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Accenture, wipro, HCL, TCS Cognizant technology 50% of students get placed After getting degree iam trying to get a job in any multinational level companies
