The college and campus is spacious and offers many many different varieties of course
There are different people from all over india and also all over the world
There are many facilities and amenities for entertainment and sports

Dislikes

The faculty are sometimes biased towards some children
Transportation is hard at times because bus services are not easily available inside the campus
Library does not have adequate number of texts

Placement Experience:

The placements are excellent As long as you have no backpapers, you will most certainly be placed in a company The last three years have showcased 100% placement for all the students with no backpapers The major placement companies are Synergy, Fleet, MSC, Maersk

Likes

college provides nice venue good study environment
provide library facilities and lab facilities
provide internet facilities like wifi and average classrooms

Dislikes

It is so far from the main road a lot to walk

There are many companies came for job providing and many internship companies like tcs ,qspiders talrop have done there placement drive . There are many roles from software developer to project management advertising management roles etc..

All u need to know about Cochin university

Likes

Large campus, can meet lots of different people, from many background, has a good intermixed culture
Many clubs, for students be a part that can actually change careers, clubs here have a solid foundation, one can for sure add it in their resume, also clubs here are famous world wide, nation wide
Location, as it is in Ernakulam u can many many aminities near ur door step and also companies who come for placements prefer ernakulam

Dislikes

More intervention of political partys, although it could be useful to raise voices against certain issues, but felt like it was also a wall between student
less number of permanent staff members , this is an issue as it can affect the NAAC acredation
lack of proper play ground, we have only got Sports arena which for sure cannot accomodate most of the students of the campus who are willing

Internships Opportunities:

Comapnies liek Keltron, matlab, fablab etc offer u internships, These interships are part of the campus syllabus and is a must for every student to do by second sem itself, one can learn in demand market skills when he or she goes to an internship, if u r really skilled companies here hire u for interships with stypent .

The life and times at CUSAT

Likes

Being one of the largest universities in Kerala the students get to interact with a multitude of students from different parts of the country.
We have multiple instances where talent can be showcased beginning at sport events and extending to the yearly Management fest.
The campus has very good infrastructure including extensive ground and amenity center facilities and one of the largest libraries in Kerala.

Dislikes

Even though there is no dearth of infrastructure it is not always available to the students.
The lack of a proper infirmary facility with doctors who are present at all times is a drawback.
The campus has a environment that is filled with politics.

Internships Opportunities:

As mentioned earlier internship cells have been working avidly in the campus and has been helping students find internshios in corporates and banks. Internships are also available on campus via the help of the individual departments.

Likes

The campus have good infrastructure ,and close to metro and airport,railway stations
The campus have good number of other states students increasing interaction with other language students
The placements are also good especially for safety and fire which is best in country

Dislikes

The expertised faculties are less,because there are less permanent faculties here
The students face problems like ragging which is very high in this college
The results will be published very late, especially onto after the starting of next sem or next year

Internships Opportunities:

Cusat provides internship in vlsi design,upskilling internships for students from other universities,prof nr madhava menon interdisciplinary center for research etc.And there many good project and startups for future are coming from these internships

campus life at Cusat

Likes

The clubs and their involvement in Campus
The campus life and the big campus we are getting
The events and Fests we are getting throughout the year

Dislikes

despite of the big fees the campus placement is but low
The regular class timings, every day uts 9-4
The un availablity of University Hostel for every students

Placement Experience:

placement is good and decent the previous year got the 65 percentage of placement the current year have completed about 75% is students are placed placement of 5 LPA and above highest placement come from fire and safety department

All you need to know about Cochin University

Likes

Friendly environment and teachers are supportive
Different skill oriented clubs that help us improve our skills
Good infrastructure and amenities. There are a lot of activities to get engaged in college

Dislikes

The college procedures are long and slow.
The curriculum is too difficult to learn since the academic year is short comparing other colleges
There is no internship assistance for the college even though there is mandatory internship as part of the curriculum

Internships Opportunities:

Internship: Cochin shipyard not stipend Hound electricals 10000 Fab lab not stipend Kerala startup mission kinfra:8000 The internships are not provided by the college we have to search it ourselves and get there.

The life in CuSAT

Likes

I like the environment and surrounding of the college . The area wherein it is located. Students will have easy access to all kind of amenities.
The faculties were really good and supportive
The overall campus infrastructure was good even though there were flaws

Dislikes

There wasn't any common area for students to sit or like an auditorium to conduct events the events were either done outdoor or happened in the seminar complex of the university
There were seperate building for each departments so interdepartmental connections were less and they were far also
Some of the classrooms didn't make up to mark

Placement Experience:

The placements happen at the start of seventh semester and continues till the end of 8 th semester. The major companies that visited were Cisco, IBM, TCS, Cognizant, Tata Elxsi, EY , UST global. Highest package was 26 lpa and average was around 6.5 lpa. About 75% Students got placement through campus placements

Infrastructure and the location of college.
Nearby tourist destination and hangout spots
Climate and weather conditions through out academic year

Dislikes

Playground! felt like its didn't even existed
Placement related supports could be more better
Fests and night life is very poorly organized

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester onwards. theres a few companies which used to visit our college every year with packages around 3-6 lpa. considering other colleges its not that good but definetly not bad either.

So many cultural programs to engage student.
Many places to visit near the college...

Dislikes

After a accident happened in the college there is no big programs.
Here are no Industrial Visit or tour for the students.
There is restricted time to going out of the hostel

We have a good intership opportunities in oru campus. We have various clubs which helps to get a intermship. The infrastructure is top-notch, with modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, a spacious library, and great sports facilities.

How is the CUSAT ranking, cutoff, and placement for a B.Tech 4 year?

CUSAT is ranked 63rd in the overall college rankings of NIRF for 2023. It has two colleges for B.Tech. One of them is SOE i.e. School of Engineering in Kochi City, and the other is CUCEK i.e. Cochin University College of Engineering in Pulinkunnu. It is a village roughly 100 km away from SOE.

The cutoff varies from year to year. My brother’s rank was 3129. He got Civil in SOE, a few years back. For CS/IT, you’ll need at least a rank >1000. The placements are decent for CS/IT and Safety & Fire graduates.

The average package for these streams is 3 LPA, and the highest package is around 20 LPA. Amazon sometimes visits the campus to make recruitments. The placements are in a poor condition for other branches. Moreover, the CUCEK campus lacks lab facilities for Civil and Mechanical.

Overall, CUSAT is a decent choice for B.Tech, but it lags behind in terms of placements and facilities for non CS/IT branches.
